Tbf Livramento has been ****e this season...can't even take a throw in, one footed and running in to traffic. Trippier made a few errors last season but I'd still regard him as a better player until proven otherwise. Livramento has that opportunity this season.
He's taken throw ins and thrown it to the other team a couple of times.. defenders maje mistakes and get punished. Livramento was crap Yesterday trippier played well when he came on.. that's all I care about.... last season is gone. The thing is when everyone is playing ****e and the side looks incapable I look at the manager... why are they all so crap ? I don't know what it is, but something doesn't look right.. the players are not enjoying their football anymore and Howe looks glum and even a bit edgy in his pressers? I think there's some bad news coming you know.
I agree that things look off. It may be that manager and players all are frustrated and dejected as a result of a, to date, fruitless transfer window - no one likes to see a lack of ambition, especially, I would expect, players who were doubtless promised the opposite when joining the club and signing new contracts. However, it may also be some kind of tension behind the scenes, and the recent structural changes this summer would probably favour that view... It could also easily be a toxic mix of both.
So far it’s very weak. The Saints performance had alarm bells ringing, that was confirmed vs Bournemouth. The team lacks in exactly the same ways it did for such large parts last season. No clarity on how we want to play, far too slow in possession, but no press nor counter attack either. Isak remains isolated, Bruno remains too deep, and the same sub standard crap are getting consistent minutes. We seem to lack fitness, togetherness, joy, identity. The manager for me seems fatigued and a bit listless which is translating onto the pitch. The club has been increasingly quiet about plans and ambitions with - aside from January - one of the worst transfer windows of this era and even worse than some of Ashley’s efforts. Hearing again about Trafford - another £20m+ on a sub - just makes me wonder why we don’t seem to learn. This lad is about £10m cheaper than Mamardashvili, yet the latter could and would instantly lift the club and improve the GK spot, with Pope being excellent backup. Yet we don’t do that. We’re afraid of hurting players feelings. Still we shop in England when we allegedly have no budget to do so effectively. I get that Mitchell’s remit is to get 2/3 young players regular minutes, that’s his modus operandi; but that’s juxtaposed with selling our two strongest young players in a PSR clusterfuck, so the club is almost at odds with itself, Howe is notorious for bedding players in slowly, yet when it comes to a matey from Bournemouth, Kelly’s in the starting line up by gameweek 2!!! Again is this him trying to point out how vital it is to have PL experience? That itself is at odds with Bruno, Botman and Isak who all hit the ground running. Whilst we can guess and guess til the cows come home and will never know what’s really happening, from the outside looking in we seem confused, messy, weak and disjointed at every level from the board down to the players. Game 3 and already we seem to be at a huge point where losses vs Forest and Spurs will quickly see this debacle turn into catastrophe.
Piece of cake to disagree with parts of it if you ask me. Alarm bells weren't ringing after the Saints game. We played over an hour with 10 men and won. It wasn't a pretty game but when you have only 10 men that's not too much of a surprise. To say otherwise is just plain stupid. In regard to the same sub standard c**p playing the implication from Roly is that they shouldn't be. You yourself have agreed many times that it will take time and especially because of PSR etc. So who do we play instead? PSR has restricted us as to how quickly we can change. The parts I agree with are that we don't know what is happening but why should we? If we knew then so does everybody else and then Chelsea will come in and pinch our targets. Essentially it's just Roly moaning that we have 4 points out of 6 from the first 2 games of the season. He classes that as a debacle. Probably sums up Roly's outlook As for me whilst it's not perfect and we haven't really played well yet I would rather have 4 points on the board than 3 or 2 or 1 or 0.
I'm fairly certain I saw Barnes Willock and Trippier come on Yesterday for 2 almost worthless players and Livramento and Newcastle improve instantly? Barnes willock and Trippier > Murphy Longstaff and Livramento. It's not even close.
I'll take him over Murphy any day of the week. All you need is a calculator and a price list in most cases if in any doubt. I still think they should have bought a right winger instead though... Barnes looked sharp.
So just so I’m clear, you’re happy with how the team looks,’how the squad is, how we’ve played, being linked with Trafford of all people we need, and how the club appears to be conducting itself?? I am fully aware I post glass utterly empty at times, but the past several months stretching back to some woeful results last season have been miles away from what I think we expected! Even shearer has come out and said alls not well at the club. It’s obvious.
Roly you need to lighten up mate. A private plane will land at NCL airport tomorrow. we gotta have faith. we’ll play with freedom soon.
Your words, not mine. I’m doing what I always do, I’m waiting until the window closes and then deciding.
