Darlow has consistently been at bigger clubs. If it is Darlow, he'd come back here with the expectation to play.
You know what, if it is Darlow I'd expect him to play. Cos he's good enough. If it's the kid from Bournemouth I'd say the same.
So, after the long debate about goalies we still don't know what's happening which pleases me. In the past lots have been debated about different topics and when it's finally happened everyone was wrong. So there'll be no Darlow, no goalie mentor or anything else that's been talked about for the last thirty or forty pages.
A gut instinct tells me it’s someone higher profile than Darlow. Darlow sits on the bench of another Championship team. Why would that be a surprise. Plus Walter has no experience of him.
It's a bit of an anomaly that he is though. He'd be playing at most other 2nd tier clubs. Well at least unlike a few weeks ago we won't wait long to find out. Thank ****.
It is actually a good week to look forward to incoming wise as we will know all of them by Friday which will be great so not worried about hearing anything till Friday if they keep us waiting.
Other than the later in the week they come in the less chance of featuring against Leeds, I agree. There's now very little need to rush.
That is the only point but I think if they come in TW will probably be thinking after the break anyway so they can get used to the other players and what he wants from them.
If they've trained a few days they may be in the squad. But yeah, it's going to be after the break I think we'll see more his vision and less transition. But it'll still take time.
I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet. But 'Walterball' involved a goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet who can play tight passes under pressure. Attributes that both Pandur and Racioppi have. But I don't recall that being Darlow's style?
He was seen as far more competent at that than Ingram at the time. But that's the comparison at the time. Walters going to want someone to distribute Ideally. Agreed.
It could be bollocks. But the direction of travel will be more experience/pedigree through the spine this week. Frankly there has to be. And some wingers.
Do Pandur and Racioppi have it though? They're willing to try I suppose but I'm not seeing an inherent natural ability. Not yet anyway. Allsop had it but also forgot he still had to save stuff, so I guess it's a balance.
