Maybe Cressy wanted to be in a first 11 or be more apart of it after his spell at Scumwall and Farke prob couldn't guarantee that. who knows. not seen him since he left but good luck to him in his future.

The Rutter money must surely help?

Archie was the one sold to get fair play in order, Summerville was always a risk to leave, two years on his contract, if he didn’t sign an extension we were always going to sell.

We tried to keep Rutter so we should have a big chunk to spend if we need to. We were never going to go for Clarke at £20m as other areas need addressing

Ipswich have done us a huge favour as they’re seriously damaging our competitors with their signings

Our signings may not help us as much as they help you! <laugh>

If you do end up coming back down, all of the signings that did well will be bought by PL clubs whilst you get stuck with the failures on big money whilst you desperately try and reduce your wage bill.

    State of football is shocking.

Alot of Leeds fans thought the same when we went up but 4 years on we are hoping to beat Hull at home next Saturday.

    It's the hope that kills.

We were out the same length of time, it’s quite shocking how large the gap is and it’s only getting worse

I get it the club and supporters need to be positive and while you buying a bunch of new lads quite a few are unproven at the top level got nowt against Ipswich and I wish you well. I bet quite a few supporters are saying well we got 2 of the biggest boys out the way in Liverpool and City things will get easier it really doesn't. Your target is 17th place and then build and build but that building is near damn impossible without a heavy backer. if you stay up and someone out your club has a stormer he won't be with you next season. Goodluck.

“Imagine who we’ll attract when we have a top half finish, a good run in a cup competition and are a regular pick for the TV cameras.

We could see there was something special happening early in 2022 and slowly others are catching on.”

I just hope someone is there to catch him as the fall is going to be painful.

Happened to look at the Prem table.

the 3 teams promoted last season have managed 1 point between them ( that’s 1 out of 18).

on the other hand, Forest who avoided relegation are this season in 7th place

id write the conclusion but it’s pretty obvious

A bit like Villa, it can be done if you survive the initial first few seasons. You need to have brought some quality players up with you though like Summerville, Rutter and Gray, then spend wisely with a couple of very good additions.

For Ipswich they probably needed to build a new starting 11 - No idea on total spend or amount in, it seems like a lot, those they’ve brought in are all gambles.

A couple on their board are already questioning the RB and Keeper

Not too long ago Wolves, Bournemouth, Brentford, Villa, Forest and Brighton were in the same position as Ipswich so it can be done I only wish different decisions were taken at Leeds

Muric is a car crash at PL level.. Great with the ball at his feet… brought up in the Man City academy. But playing from the back is a tough gig in the prem… as Burnley found out last year. Muric’s goal keeping fundamentals and decision making are poor.

As for team’s staying up… it can still be done and you can get a bit of stability if you survive a season or two. Loads of recent examples. You often need a bit of luck. Forest rode theirs hugely - now they’re playing half decent.

They've just paid £15m for a championship level CB that struggled in the PL last season too

Staying up is all about recruitment of the right players and having a coach that can find the right system to get the best out of the players he has. Probably most notable for me would be Brighton who’s scouting department has been brilliant then they sell to Chelsea for £100 million (none of this £40 million nonsense) and Brentford, whatever you think of Thomas Frank he knows how to set up a team. Teams like Forest and Everton benefited from the fact that last season all three that came up were so weak and it could be the same this year.
