There was always going to be tough competition for Simic based on what’s been said about his potential. Just got to hope he has the same sort of outlook as Rigg and Jobe, wanting game time more than a pay check. RB players seem to follow that sort of pathway so hopefully he’s the same!
Attached a thumbnail of the flight details. Not see it? Dont have a great track record of uploading images!
The best sell in my opinion is that it may be his quickest route to the Premier League which is where most players want to be. Citing how many players are being signed from the Championship into that league demonstrates that coming here is a good way to showcase his talents even if we ultimately fail to get there ourselves. Perhaps better now than at a lesser light in the Bundesliga.
Aye, part of me thinks that we maybe let him go with a week to spare in order to spend some of the money. In another world we probably could have held out for a few more million in the last few hours of deadline day, but that doesn't sell the image of "come to Sunderland, and if you're good enough we'll let you step up" if we dug our heels in and stopped him going to other young and upcoming talents
If Simic wants first team football, it’ll be us who’d offer it more likely than Bundesliga teams I reckon. Top of the league, constant chances being created for forward players, and playing good stuff. We’d be in a good position to offer a good deal to him.
