You don't need to be a superstar to improve those lads.. I get it they're good lads but they're not good enough. It's coming
Nobody would have thought they'd still ne at the club never mind being regular 1st team starters. It's a managerial decision as much as anything else imo.
And a transfer decision making issue. Since the takeover we've bought: 4 goalkeepers 6 full backs 2 left wingers But no RW. Not counting Minteh as we bought and sold him.
Early days it was easier I guess but over time it appears more and more as if Howe is picking all the players. It would be interesting to know what the hell is going on, but whoever wanted Barnes will hopefully be told to sit down.
If you mean transfers, then not sure I 100% agree there for current situation, as Mitchell is now in charge of transfers. From the Amazon series Howe clearly pushed and pushed for Gordon as his main target in that window. But Staveley listened to him whereas Mitchell is a specialist un that role. I'm sure he will consult with EH, but ultimately, transfers are now down to him. So on that front, Howe must have less say / power now than he maybe did before.
Ashworth was in that video bringing Gordon to his attention. We'll never know what really goes on though. I just like I say think there's an underbelly that's holding the club back and someone is determined to keep them. We'll see how that all works out for them.
Yeah, feels that way to an extent. But always assuming it's Howe is just based on presumptions. He's hardly going to a presser and outright saying "**** me the club have really shafted me by not replacing the likes of Jacob fookin Murphy, but I'll do the best I can with the pile of **** I've got." Is he? Stating that the likes of Murphy, Burn and Longstaff all have "character" and "give their all" is exactly what he should be saying in public, regardless of what he thinks of their ability/potential. If they have good attitudes, then 100% focus on that in the media, not their limitations. What he needs is some better options to choose from. Hopefully that will come.
I actually think Roland was proven demonstrably correct last summer and this summer Iooks like it's the same situation.
Everything he said last summer... Barnes for example..this summer he's one week away from defeating the entire fanbase.
But he's not. He's complaining about a lack of signings, which a lot of people are. Lets be blunt about this, He'll complain and moan even when signings arrive anyway so it's a lose - lose with Roly. Roly's has a bee in his bonnet because Howe won't play his favoured 4-2-3-1.
Yes because EH can pick Miggy instead of Murphy. Obviously a manager’s decision or CC with his pre arranged agenda trying to shout louder and more often than anybody else as that makes it true and not just guesswork on his part.
Or CC makes his opinion known and is then chased around by ****witt neanderthals who have a primitive reaction to his view.
Ultimately all I'm saying is common knowledge and the players I'm referring to aren't going to be good enough if the club is serious about being a top 6 club. It's not rocket science what I'm pointing out, which is that none of them would get a start at any of the big clubs. Whether they can get in a 25 isn't the point it's the fact they're regular 1st team players. The club will be keen to change that. Once they've gone they'll find their level and people will figure it out from there perhaps.
Chelsea are considering Everton'sEngland striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 27, as a cheaper option than Napoli's Victor Osimhen, 25, because of the Nigeria striker's wage demands. (Sun)
