I'm sure I saw Poveda getting stripped to come on. Then Neil got sent off and a change of plan by RLB put paid to his debut.
Absolutely battered them first half and they couldn’t have been upset if we had been about 3 goals up…..they even resorted to their keeper feigning injury after 20 mins to allow Parker to try and get them organised as they were under constant pressure, it didn’t work!! they only got on the ball because we stood off but kept them pretty easily at arms length, we even had the best chances in the second half, they managed a back pass to Patterson and that was it. tougher tests and times to come no doubt but it’s great to be able to see what we are trying to do and even better to see them delivering on the pitch
I think he can be but not just yet. He isnt great receivinv on the half turn which is massive for a CDM but he def has the potential I still think he will be a ball playing CB going forwafd tho
Could it be as simple as Roberts is stepping up his game knowing that Jack Clarke was away and he wants to be that fans favourite that Clarke was, and in a way he's stepping out of his shadow....or am I over thinking it. He's always had the talent but he had a poor season last year but mind he wasn't the only one.
There is no such thing as a french 'yes' man! It's just not in their nature. I love him. Cool as a cucumber.
Not just that. He was playing deeper with a clear defensive remit to accompany his forward play and he’s moving the ball quicker than last year, less touches. It suits him. He is still shooting like he has the boots on the wrong feet but composure comes with confidence
I noticed both Dodds and Proctor involved in the warm up, I've never seen them out there before, it looked to me as though they had been reminded what their job is
It's amazing what a difference an actual head coach can bring to exactly the same squad as last season. It's like night and day in comparison. It's very early days but we could be in for a very very good season
Their keeper feigning injury was madness. Shows how rattled they were, but I can only assume it's something they have discussed and planned before hand. Not in preparation for today but in preparation for the season certain players must have been briefed to go down "injured" at a certain signal from the bench, to give them a chance to regroup! As I can't see the keeper thinking of it and trying it today out the blue! Cheating ****ing fannies!
Very tempted to go myself. Just need to sort a couple of family things. Be class. No love lost. Their fans are one of the worst sets going to be honest.
If it’s “ overthinking “ then I was “ overthinking “ exactly same - maybe he’s seen there is a lot of love available now
