My view today. Burnley were toothless. Nothing changes on what we need, I’m certain Mayenda will work but a genuine striker threat needed. Roberts was brilliant, defensively hard working, buzzing around all over, still can’t shoot and overhits crosses. I really hope he nails that last bit because he was good today. Defensively organised, great mid/high pressing. How much of a difference does Cirkin make.
Le Bris deserves the most credit for me. We look like a unit not a disjointed mess.

might be me but he looks like a bloke that thought he had managed to get himself a classic car, drove it round a couple of corners then the engine fell out of it.

Without looking, were Burnley missing some players or something. They looked completely off it.

Mostly down to us, but just wondering.

No worries about him being the back up but I'm not sure he will even be that I thought he was making some decent runs today and still looked bright. He is young and hasn't had many minutes so still finding his feet.

And talking about players finding their feet Mundle trying one from the halfway line can see he feels the pressure of taken Clarkes place ffs! Take into account he hasnt had much time of the pitch since he came and the fact there would have been a lot pressure on him today (not that it bithered him) and he could end up being better from that showing.

They made 4 changes. Not sure they were forced but not massive. Where I was sat the number 42 was their best player. His first sub? So strange

He’s not a very good manager in truth. If Burnley are a few steps off what they were last season then he’s far from a guarantee of bridging that gap and getting them back up.

Only of their own doing, tbf that team could've played a lot better if we'd allowed them to ...

... we're missing Clarke, Huggins, Seelt, etc.

We were simply the better team, 1-0 flattered them imo.

First time since the early 1920s that we've won our first 3 games....the question is, was anyone on here around then to see it? :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

There's a point, in that clip, when you see him crack and turn on the players ...

    ... he's a worm imo.

Couldnt watch today. Reading on here is good. What a start this is, and most importantly we are dismissing last seasons form and last seasons home challenges.

Over the moon for Roberts. I do appreciate the drop off in form last season but I always felt some criticism was OTT. He was below his level but always attracted 2 men to him. If he has his mojo back he remains one of the most dynamic wide men in this league.

Disappointed in Neil if one of the bookings was for dissent, again. He is old enough now, and captain, and that needs cutting out. I love his on field passion but he needs to learn to flick a switch off. In his position he will pick up bans, but when they are for dissent it is maddening.

We have given ourselves a brilliant platform. The old argument of wait 10 games doesnt really mean much. We are 3 from 3 with zero goals conceded. The table now is relevant. Particularly if we are thinking of a couple of real push on signings. We are showing we are challengers, players will want to come more than had we had 4 or 5 points. Might just convince a player to sign. It feels like we have a chance to push a bit more right now. Maybe be brutal and go and get that loan signing that just has to play.

Back from the game and this is my tuppence thrown in. Ab-sol-ute-ly BRILLIANT!!! I've never seen us looking so solid as a team when defending. It must've been Roberts' best ever game for us, he was absolutely immense! Never seen him put that much of a shift in defensively.

We could've been 2 or 3 nil up after 20 mins, Mundle had a good game and at times in the second half I wish they would just shoot more often. Burnley weren't the same team that came here last time but we're not the same either. What RLB has done in a few months is astounding and it looks like every player has brought into it!

    Jack who?

agree with that, he thought he was getting a premiership team and all he had to do was let them play and he would have a promotion on his cv...now he is gonna have to do some work.

I totally missed his first booking and thought his second was a good "take one for the team" tackle <laugh><doh>

He’s got two pl squads promoted from this league (Bournemouth only just) and it remains to be seen if the Burnley squad is of a sufficiently higher level of quality than the other teams to compensate for his own shortcomings.
