The clubs like West Ham and Man United are demonstrably stronger than last season. Brighton are also still a good side. Newcastle are still relying on players that simply aren't good enough on a regular basis and this season I think they'll struggle.
Faith isn't anything worth hanging your hat on and will always be countered by evidence. I could be wrong mate, but that's my assessment at this stage.. I see Newcastle having somewhat of a reality check this season.
I don't use faith at all...it's hocus pocus. I just look at the league table last season and who's been purchased. Newcastle have stood still and the clubs around them haven't. We will see.
And last season, and the season before and part of the season before. But, to be fair, everyone is entitled to be wrong...sorry, have an opinion.
Last season at this precise stage I was saying they'd fail to get into Europe? People argued until they were blue in the face that they'd finish top 5. I'm saying 8th at best this season you ?
I agree with Tasty in that 8th isn't the 'best' we could possibly do. And you never know how things will pan out. But, in terms of likelihood, then I agree with you that 8th feels realistic based on current squads. Hopefully the club will do some business before the transfer window ends but so far, it has been a step backwards vs other clubs.
