I think it’s just the language you used mate. Read like you were saying you couldn’t believe Jobe got 90 minutes. I personally would have been dumbstruck if he’d taken him off. Rigg doesn’t need to play the full 90. Still developing:
Also Rigg was playing in the front two of the defensive press. Haven’t seen running stats but he would have put a hell of a shift in.
it was but at the same time they had first shot on target after 85 mins, if we had got a 2nd might have been 6
Well if that's the best team in the league we are going up We never got out of first gear there and weren't troubled at all totally professional performance from start to finish.
Utterly tremendous performance. We harried, harrassed, ran and fought for 90 mins at a level the opposition were just not comfortable with. The tempo and intensity of our play on and off the ball was truly something to behold. We're seeing performances from lads right across the pitch, Patto had an easy day at the back because the shape infront of him when we don't have the ball is tremendous. The back four have all been class, Hume and Cirkin put in an awful lot of work up and down the touchlines, O'Nien is as busy as ever and Alese looks as controlled and composed as you'd want from your CB. Then into midfield, with an average age of about 4 and a half. Okay, its inexperience from Neil to dive in and get the second yellow but before that hes imperious. Jobe is like a man mountain and is so classy in how he goes about his work, we're seeing him be so much more combative than last season and its great. Chrissy Rigg is the Duracell Bunny, he does not stop. Then on the ball hes full of moments of quality that show you just why the club are so excited about his future. Paddy Roberts is a man reborn as was the pick of the lot for me today, we're seeing those driving runs and tricky touches and its a matter of time before one nestles in the back of the net. Mayenda was busy and pressed so well and what can we say about Mundle?! Talk about taking your chance, and a goal that was so Jack Clarke that if you blinked you'd have believed it was his. The firm favourites for the league and free-scoring, limited to four shots and only one true chance all game, only mustering a powderpuff shot on target in the 85th minute against ten men. The work rate and press was phenomenal and then we get on the ball and theres quality all over the place. Our only bugbear today is that we didn't kill them off. Three wins from three for the first time since 1925 and the first time we've EVER done that without conceding. Regis needs a serious pat on the back. Imagine being Wilson Isidor watching that today, I bet he can't wait to get amongst it. Really happy Sunderland fan, 34 years old and definitely on the piss tonight. Haway the ****ing lads.
Don't want to get too carried away but has a manager ever had this kind of impact straight away? There is a big improvement in every area of how they are playing. The way they close down and get back is a joy to watch. Burnley thought they broke away at one point next minute they were swarmed!
Interested to see who replaces Neil next week. Bring Browne in and have him sit or Ekwah who is a bit more of a natural defensive midfielder.
Just back in slightly the worse for wear, but after 80 minutes my words to my son, “even if we lose we have nothing to worry about, we have more than matched 10 Jack Clarkes and deserve to win,
