Match Day Thread Charlton V Bolton

I think this will be the hardest game yet. Bolton, for me, were the best side in the division last season. This will be a real test and I can see our first defeat.

I miss this one for a friend's wedding. According to a Bolton fan on Charlton Live Santos's form has been inconsistent, which must give us grounds for hope. I'm going for 1-1 (Godden).

Time to abandon the Campbell experiment up front, and start with Godden.

I agree with your team selection prediction Dick P with the exception of TC starting again. So same as Leyton O but with Small in for Edwards

 

Having claimed six points from six to start the season, the Addicks are looking to continue their good form on Saturday when they welcome Bolton Wanderers to The Valley (KO 3pm BST).

Nathan Jones told CharltonTV on Thursday that the Trotters are a well-coached side, and the Addicks will have to be “the best version of ourselves” to come out on top.

 

Big test coming up and a great chance to see how good we really are. Can the high press be effective against Bolton?
Can we create enough chances to nick it? I’m going for a 1-1 draw.

 

Hope we don’t miss Edwards too much as our defence has looked so much better so far - with my glass half full outlook I’m going for a crafty 2-1 win

 

I'm thinking a draw, which would be OK.
As others have said, Bolton are a good test at this early stage.

A good test well passed. Happy for any home fans who went to the Valley today.
It's been a good start to the season

 

Excellent performance from the lads. Everyone of them ran their legs off. Defence was superb against one of the best sides in the division. They had plenty of the ball but didn’t cause us too many problems. Great ball from Chucks for Godden to head in. We look like a side that will be up there. It would be good if we could strengthen more in the next week. Nathan Jones clearly knows what he is doing.

 

The only player I am not convinced by is Gassan Ahadme. He runs around a lot and he is decent in the air. But he isn’t going to score you over twenty goals like Alfie May.

 

He does a job though , he presses which is why NJ brought him in I think
