Looking forward to the next game, not said that with such conviction for a while. Burnley will be up there at the end of the season, on today’s showing we will be too.
I was going to post a happy birthday thread but you've DIY'd ... ... Happy Birthday mate, on the day history was made
First half we were the Barcelona of the Championship bar the last 5 mins, second half still the better team and looked dnagerous throughout, Dan Neil sent off with 10 mins to go, went into fortress mode after that, Burnley unable to penetrate, we were a Roman phalanx, unbreakable in spirit and formation. 1-0 win, soon as the whistle went LON and Aji punching the air to the roar of the crowd.
The score doesn't do the lads justice. Could have been 2 or 3 up in first 20 minutes. Some lovely stuff played. Roberts unreal and Mundle, considering its his first game replacing Clarke and the pressure that could come with that, we have got a player on our hands if that's is an indication of things to come. Class. Only downside was the daft red!
From the stream I watched…. Generally played well. Appeared to be organised Daft sending off for DN Good substitutions at the right time Got a bit nervy and scrappy for the last five mins or so If Burnley are the benchmark for this season then we are going up Patrick Roberts is a player transformed from last season. Mundle MOTM
Like I said earlier, for me we were a bunch of meerkat's aggravating a snake before the kill If we don't get promoted this season I'll eat my hat.
Happens a lot when teams get out pressed and outworked, losing team fans don't see it they just assume their players were ****e. Been on the receiving end enough times, finally a coach who likes to press and make the most of a talented young team and look at the results.
Main points for me were the team need a few more games to gel better, and here is hoping we will murder the lesser teams, it could be a fantastic season. Roberts producing some of his old Magic. A point of note Pattos booting out needs work as we fight hard to keep possession then give it away with a crap boot out.
We press high and force errors. From their perspective, they made errors. All fans are the same really, if we lose, we look for the faults in our own first and foremost.
Never seen such a 1 sided 1 nil in ages. Made them look ordinary. I think it's time everyone took us seriously
The commentator was right up Burnley's arse ... ... made so many stupid excuses I thought it was Jermaine Jenas at first 'They've lost important players, Parker hasn't had time to get his message across, they didn't get the decisions' ... ... the fact is we stunned them with our press and energy until they went into limp mode.
