Surprised to see Bissouma straight back in tbh. And based on his previous response to adversity, I'm concerned that he may try too hard and lose his head. Has a red card written into the script. Hope I'm wrong, but I'd have started with Sarr.
After what Ange has said, I think Biss will be on his very best behaviour as he’s in the last chance saloon.
The Sarr decision is an intriguing one. He was the last of the midfielders to tail off last season but then I think he’s been the one who’s failed to recapture the form the longest now too. Maddison and Bentancur have shown glimpses of their quality from the end of last season and the start of this, whilst Bissouma to a lesser extent was more positive in pre-season than Sarr in the sense of looking like they were ready to hit the season running (so of course he acts a cock and gets himself a club suspension for the first game!). Going on a game by game basis and assuming that Ange now has enough players to change the side if any underperforms, Johnson and Sarr would’ve been the two I’d have benched from Monday night.
Already two nice crosses that would have probably resulted in a dangerous shot if we had a more instinctive 9 in the box
What I already like about Odobert is that he just gets on with it. Immediately looks to take his man on. Sonny pauses a bit too often for my liking on the left and gives the defenders a chance to set themselves.
That’s a cracking strike. Nice to see some variety in our attacking play, looking for a player at the top of the box rather than always trying to cross or cut back into the penalty area. More of that please!
Spurs starting well, can they break the pattern and kill the game or will we see a repeat of the Lesta game.
