Cleverley's side made it three straight successes at the start of this season last weekend, when a Kayembe brace and one from youngster Ryan Andrews sealed a 3-0 victory over Stoke City, who were undoubtedly second best at Vicarage Road in the afternoon. please log in to view this image The Rams were one of the biggest losers on the opening weekend of the term, suffering a 4-2 defeat in Lancashire at the hands of John Eustace's Blackburn Rovers. Since that difficult Friday night at Ewood Park, Derby have returned to their Pride Park base twice and earned a pair of one-goal victories, beating Chesterfield 2-1 in the first round of the EFL Cup on August 13 before edging past Middlesbrough in the Championship thanks to a summer arrival. Team News The boss confirmed that Jeremy Ngakia is the only new injury concern following last weekend's victory over Stoke City. Derby remain without the services of young defender Jake Rooney, who is targeting a return to action in 2025 following a serious cruciate ligament injury. Corey Blackett-Taylor is moving closer towards a return to the field, but it remains to be seen whether the winger makes the squad on Saturday. Stat Fact: You have to go back to the 1978/79 season to find the last time Watford scored 11 or more goals in their first three competitive fixtures of the season. In that 78/79 campaign under Graham Taylor, the Hornets started by beating Brentford 4-0 at home and then 3-1 away in the first round of the League Cup, which in those days was played over two legs. They followed up with a 4-2 victory at Walsall on the opening day of the league season, and then just for good measure whacked in five more in the fourth game when they thumped Blackpool 5-1 three days later! Ryan Porteous is well again and available for selection. I thought that Morriss did very well in the back three, and probably earned his place in the team for tomorrow. So should Tom stick with him, or bring Ryan back?
