Ahhh i may change it ! I think me and dai got off on the wrong foot maybe. Really i just want to be his friend
Yes i have to say this is indeed a game to play our strongest team, its not going to be easy up there regardless of what they did against cardiff !
i think i have named a very strong team, what is wrong with it??? as far as i can see we have not won any away and not many goals either, so whats the problem of trying something different against a team in turmoil, I bet if someone else had suggested such a line up you all will be for it....
well the way i see it is if there is a time to rest key players its against the likes of Man utd,Man city or Chelsea. We shouldnt take chances against the team around us because they are all 6 pt games. We must be at our strongest against Blackburn they will be no pushovers
Actually, I am going against the flow with this one. Blackburn are not playing well and their defence is poor. The trouble is that they are still managing to get in their fair number of shots on goal. Knowing our luck one or two of them might go in!! I still figure us for a win but people who think that Blackburn will fold or that they will be pushovers, are in for a shock. They know they are in trouble and will be scrapping for everything. Couple that with the fact that they do have a number of experienced quality players who can hurt us, we will have to be very focused to get anything there. I think we will do it but it won't be easy. I wouldn't be disappointed with a draw to be honest because at least we will maintain the status quo vis a vis our points gap. Slightly more pressure for them which can only help us.
the only key player that is rested is ash, danny is no better than Lita to call him a key player, its a very strong team with more attacking options.
The thing is you take Ashley Williams out of defence and i think we will struggle. Yakubu is no mug and has scored goals at this level for several years now! Your team the way you have lined it up has Jazz Richards at centre back which baffles me ! I agree with Norway to be honest if there is experimenting to be done then do it against the bigger teams where anything we get is a bonus anyway but even then i think anyone can beat anyone in this league on there day so i would go with teh strongest possible 11 for each and every game! I agree with you though Dai with Lita i would give him one or two starts to see how he does there is not that much in it between them and may keep graham on his toes a bit as well showing he is not an automatic first choice every week !
is DG still injured or was it a minor knock he suffered? tbh i would rest players when playing sides like man c man u etc etc and play full strength against the so called weaker sides
Dai - I see the Logic to your argument , Ash is like a Machine but even machines need down time!! im a little bit concerned about us at the back anyway, Monk is doing ok but is on the limit every game and im not sure he can sustain it for much longer before he gets turned over big time, i think buck will go for ash, monk, jazz and taylor at the back he may start with Lita and have DG on the bench. The games ive seen of Blackburn they havent been too bad, they seem to have plenty of spirit and with a home crowd backing them its going to be tough, the longer the game goes on with no score or a goal to us the more the fans will start to get on their managers back, if he loses this game he is sacked,so the players may well decide to hang him out to dry, i hope so anyway!! The Blackburn players can then start afresh with a new guy in charge and we take 3 crucial points !! happy days, everyones a winner !!
dai, you dont want to be messing around with the centre back pairing in such a crucial game. blackburn will have targetted this game, same as rodgers will have, and although you are entitled to your opinion, pigs will fly before BR picks that team
Aha Dai's got a new playmate, and there's me thinking he'll be all on his lonesome, with Jager and Aussie gone, there is justice in the world after all!................ Strange no one is mentioning Caulker! Think he may well figure this weekend, I see Ivor and I agree regarding Blackburn being no pushover, to be honest guys I know their defence is poor, but they have had some bad luck too, not to mention poor refereeing decisions, I just hope they don't get it together this weekend, just because Cardiff beat them, doesn't mean we will, and their manager rested their stars for Saturdays game, so I'll be happy with a point, though if we perform well, we should bag all three points, here's hoping, Dai we have Taylor at left back, not tailor from Savil Row, your a right head banger mate!................ please log in to view this image
dai, your team is pants. if you want to experiment you don't do it with something that is functioning well, the defense is playing well and has kept the most clean sheets in the prem so to experiment with that is just plain stupid, we've only played 13 games with 3 international breaks and no midweek games so player's don't need to be rested just yet, i'm all for tinkering further up the pitch and your idea of sinclair playing as an attacking midfileder is one i've pondered myself, why has'nt it been tried? lita looked lively last week and created a couple of chances for himself so i'd give him the nod this week, make no mistake blackburn is going to be a very tough game for us this wekend and if we come away with something i'll be reasonably happy(if we win i'll be chuffed)
If we play Sinclair through the middle we're playing 4-4-2, as he's not a central midfielder. That, and dropping Ash, would mean us losing, I'd bet everything I own on it! Joey and Leon against Premiership midfielders with no support from the 3rd CM? They'd have a rough time of it!
Why rest Ash? He doesn't look tired and he's playing brilliantly. Unless he asks, or looks like he needs a rest, keep playing him. He's the rock in our defence.
Youd have to be a total idiot to rest Williams in what is in all probability a 6 pointer. Rodgers isnt. So your reserve full back will have to wait for his chance to play centre half.
Slightly off the subject guys but I've just spoken to the Reebok stadium (15 miles and 20 mins from Ewood Park) and despite them being away on Sat the Reebok reception is open where they have a book of condolence for Gary Speed if anyone wants to sign on the way to the match.
