6 points and 2 clean sheets to date. This is a free hit for me and I expect us to get at them. Confidence will be high in both camps and RLB has had another week to work with the players. They have a decent midfield, but the way our midfield have started, particularly Jobe, I think we'll be a good match for them. If we are clinical in front of goal, I think we will sneak it, particularly if we keep our defensive shape, like we have done so far this season. Head says 2-2, heart says 2-1 win. Either way, I can't wait for tomorrow!
Never heard of him but it would be a bit demoralising seeing your players bugger off to Saudi for a paid holiday rather than stick with your club and do the job they've trained all their lives for.
Mundle comes in for Clarke, Rigg keeps his place says our mate jimmy on X, he got it bang on last week
Wouldn’t be a shock to see him at one of our fixtures soon. He seems to love watching Jobe when possible
This will be a real test of just how much we have progressed under RLB so far. Early days but a good performance will probably mean more than the actual result. I'm going for a home win tho haha.
I quietly fancied us to get a win or a comfortable draw before the Clarke news, guess we just have to see how the team coped without him. Hopefully Mundle has been showing his preseason threat in training.
Fingers crossed mate. He'll definitely be a massive loss for us. Longer term I hope we'll be stronger for it.
Up early excited for today's game. Huge chance for Mundle to shine and for the team to show everyone what we are all about. Haway the lads
Really looking forward to this, good test to see where we’re at against the likely champions, has a pressure off feeling to it given the start we’ve had, Haway the lads straight into them! Buzzing to get into the town feels like forever since my last game
Depends if his international clearance is through Edit* Takes up to 7 days according to the FA website
Thank you RTB for setting the scene with another great match day thread. Now, I originally had this down for a draw however I have woke up feeling extremely confident after my dream last night where we won 3-0!!! Shame I can’t be there today as I’m on call (again) but with Jack now leaving, this gives another big opportunity for another up and coming young player to seize the day! Last week it was Mayenda who took his chance so hopefully today is a day we look back on in weeks and months to come where we can say Romaine Mundle did the same. Good luck lads!
Burnley will be rightly concerned about our attacking threat today even with Clarke missing. Mayenda looked a proper handful last week, Roberts getting back to his best, Mundle is an unknown with pace, then Jobe and Rigg behind. That's a great front 5 add in Cirkin bombing forward from left back and we are a big threat. Then potentially Poveda, Browne to come on if things need changing. Yes I'm far too excited for today, can't help it
Great as ever RTB many thanks, looking forward to the match hopefully we can win this one but more so give a good account of ourselves and come 5 o’clock we’ll have a better understanding of where we are at. 2-0 COME ON
Judging by the Sheff Weds game, in particular, we are so well coached and drilled, in and out of possession, that gone are the days of just chucking someone in and telling them to do a job. Needs time on the training pitch first in my opinion.
He’s been sharp as owt in training all preseason by all accounts. I think as Le Bris said though, he’s still inconsistent as a player really just starting his career so don’t really know what we’re going to get. Would be amazing if he puts in a performance like the one he did against Bradford.
