Not much as we're so close to January and Barnard is back.

What a marvelous piece of speculation you are trying to create.
Reminds me of a favorite crisp thread..... & that was ****.

We'd struggle a bit but would probably sign someone in January. In fact we probably will regardless.

In a thread to decide our most valuable player, I suggested an injury to Lambert would strike the most fear into Saints' hearts.

It's also important what it would mean to the other players. Think the team regard him as a talisman.

Lots of things could happan, but most things carry a contingency plan. Still, depressing contemplating an injury to the lad.

On Player, Adkins was talking about injuries. He said players try and hide injuries from him, but he said (with a wink),' I'm ahead of that game.'

yeah he mentioned about fox having a slight pelvic injury in the same sentence so it might be something to do with him, although lambert might be considered there too

No problem, since Rickis is a double hard bastard.

I got "double hard" from soccer AM.. love it!

I think if rickie gets injured we have Guly Barnard conno and STTTEEEEEVVEEE as cover so it wouldn't be the end of the world. But we would lose a lot of goals and assists. Bloody lambert, he's amazing.

With our current squad, it would cost us automatic promotion.

how many goals has lambert scored/assisted? from open play minus penalties?
there is your answer. he would be a big loss however not as much as fans of other teams like to make out.

Lallana out = big problem, lambert out = there are other options.

Simples is if Lallana is out we need Morgan in the midfield to slow possession down and keep hold of the ball, If Lambert is out we just put Barnard or Connoly or an academy player in there and they will still get the chances.

It is other teams that try to make out Saints are a one man team. That is good because it means Lallana goes under the radar and long may it continue.

As said previosuly, think of all the assists and bringing others itno play that Lambert does - we will really miss that and struggle to replace it adequately. We don't have another player like Lambert, no matter who you play be it Barnard, Connolly, Doble or Hoskins. Oir whole play at the top will have to be re-done IMO.

What a depressing thread. Luckily he doesn't get injured too often. Nigel, being a former physio, must have spotted an early sign and pulled him off as a precaution.
