Meanwhile, Gundogan completes a return to city literally within the space of a few days of being told he's surplus to requirements. I don't know why things seems to take us so much longer than everyone else. If we knew we would at least have some level of acceptance but having absolutely no visibility of anything is just baffling at times. I'm not saying every deal is straight forward, far from it but we seem to find ourselves in this position nearly every time (Bruno is probably the only recent example to the contrary).

Players should hold some sort of responsibility/accountability here in all this as well. The Trippier saga a prime example. If he's got no intention of leaving then ****ing come out and say so, if not for the fans then at the very least for his ****ing boss who's sat in front of the media fielding questions he knows very little about in terms of how to answer them. I think we'll all be eternally grateful for him coming here when we were 19th and starting the revolution so to speak....i do believe we wanted out of Madrid to start with and wanted to be back in the UK so I don't think it was a hard sell by any stretch of the imagination. We should have just ****ing sold him to Bayern in January !

The timescales are just baffling. We've been after a CB for the whole transfer window, while about 6 or 7 good options have moved to other clubs.

And agree about Tripps, he's had plenty of time to see the media reports and to have responded - if he wanted to stay. He clearly has some kind of issue - even if it's all outside of football - something hasn't been right with him for months now. If he is still up for it then he needs to come out and say so. If not, then get him moved on quick, but not on a stupid loan deal.

Howe actually said in the press conference “we can’t carry 5 goalkeepers”. WHAT THE **** DID YOU SIGN TWO FOR THEN YOU DOZY TWAT?

A few possible theories I guess:
    1. Ruddy is there more in a coaching capacity and not as a registered player.
    2. They assumed we'd be moving Dubz on this transfer window.
    3. They assumed we'd release / loan out Gillespie.
    4. The club is run by morons.

BTW I'll say again Howe isn't in charge of playing transfers, so he's not the dozy twat you are referring to here. Mitchell is. Unless he has a grand plan we just haven't seen yet.

From his press conference it sounds like we have no intention of signing anyone bar Guehi. And even that seems to be “difficult”. That we will try for a “difference maker” (from a scouted talent pool of about 2 players, it would seem) up to the “last second” (implying that pesky ‘line’ is back) is ****ing dreadful. That our last major signing was Harvey Barnes 12 months ago speaks volumes for the real trajectory of this club. Sportswashing? Maybe. Advertising vehicle? Probably. Trophy winning second coming of Man City? <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

    1. Howes just said he’s a first team keeper.
    2. How are we so ****ing bad at selling players? Everyone else seems to manage fine.
    3. Howe gave him a new contract extension.
    4. This is becoming painfully obvious.

This presser was the first time I think I’ve felt Howe is not to blame. He may have a narrow focus but he’s the boss, that’s his prerogative. A lot of his comments were very clearly pointing at the leadership as falling. The PSR sales, the ****ing around unable to shift players, the ridiculous speed we operate at, I feel like Howe is as frustrated as anyone.

Eels will show his slippery side again I reckon (see what I did there).

Sounds interesting. Not seen the presser yet, so will take a look after work.

Could also be smoke and mirrors, i genuinely hope we **** palarse off and sign a different CB from elsewhere that we've been working on behind the scenes and a RW option. Not because I don't want Guehi of course, I'd love him here....he's no VVD but i'm sure will come good, it's just stupid ****ing money that's all.

We have been for the last 12 months or more the most basic, obvious and transparent club in transfers. Media get a week or two notice and we plod along eventually signing exactly who everyone said we would. I believe it’s Guehi or nothing. I don’t think they’re even close to a right wing signing. I don’t think anybody got the PSR ****show right. There’s a level of incompetence at the club and I don’t know who’s to blame.

Olise was an Ashley thing - pointlessly waving some money at Palace knowing full well we wouldn’t get the player (oh but we tried to get him). This is what further confused me: if we wanted to spend £60m on a right winger, what then changes in the space of 2 weeks to suddenly mean we weren’t bothered or had no plan b?? If we also wanted to spend £20m on Trafford, what then changed that we signed two older, ****ter goalkeepers who have neither a future nor a present at this club? So why have we again in a very short space of time turned away from getting Popes understudy/successor?

Now we’re doing the same with Guehi. Looks to me we’ll walk away - yet have no plan b whatsoever on centre backs we clearly need?

I just have no ****ing clue what the club is doing.

I have no idea what's going on, nor do I have any intention of learning more about it.

But I don't like it what I'm smelling.

This window gives the Ashley and Charnely era vibes to it.

If we don't sign anyone, we'll probably looking at another season finishing outside European football places.

Well yeah because we’ll remain one or two injuries from a crap team. This weekend will see Murphy and Longstaff start, with a CB pairing of Krafth and Burn. Halls not even looked great. And I’m hearing that Barnes is frustrated. BARNES for ****s sake! He’s a relegation player, what’s he getting frustrated about?! That’s he’s just a bit crap??

We are ****ing MILES AWAY from the promises made.
