I don’t actually think the simic fee will be that much to warrant a sale needed. @MadMackem77 made a good point earlier. He’s in his last year and has rejected a new contract. could be a few million with add ons and a heft sell on
In a really counter intuitive way for me losing Rigg would have been the worst. Has the highest ceiling by far.
hey you might be right. Also worth pointing out this is exactly the reason we might be tempted by a slightly “lower” offer for Clarke now. As in one year he could be in the exact same boat as Simic - one year left and refused a new deal. Just saying it’s not as easy for the club to say “nope it’s £25m” as we’d all like it to be. Not saying the club won’t still do that as they definitely seem to have a backbone in negotiations.
Clarke said 2 weeks ago, he loved it here, reports suggest that his new offer is not up to what he wants, well diamonds like him are once in a decade. IMHO i would give the lad what he wants and stick another 2 years on his existing contract.
Same. I think we’ve seen him play for the last time. I genuinely wish the lad nothing but good luck. It’s why I hope it ends on the right terms rather than gets soured.
Aye feels inevitable he’s off now, made peace with it in may but the longer he stayed the more I believed he’d sign a new deal, be a kick in the balls now but excited to see mundle get a run
As Marvin Gaye would say - What's going on? A quick scan and it seems like we are about to sign a load of exciting players? Feels like we might be about to make a step up in level of signing too. Hope it is all true...
Why not mate, we are a massive club with massive support and a billionaire owner. just pay the lad what he wants, he is worth it.
Thats not how football works tho A championship team gets approx 160 million less than a PL club so we would be stupid to pay PL wages in the championship
