Visser's remarkable performance included six sixes off Nalin Nipiko's, making him the fourth batter to accomplish this feat in men's T20 internationals. This achievement also marked the first instance of a team scoring over 36 runs in an over. Visser started the over with three sixes over deep midwicket. The first one was short of a length and wide delivery outside the off stump, Visser moved across his stumps and hauled it over the midwicket fence. Nipiko corrected his length but his line was once again the problem. Visser got enough room to give it a full swing of his arms. The ball landed in the same area for another six. The Samoa batter completed a hat-trick of sixes when Nipiko tried to come closer to the stumps but once again missed his mark. The free hit was smashed over deep-square leg for the fourth six of the over. The fifth ball was a dot much to the relief of Nipiko and his team but the joy was shortlived. He bowled back-to-back no-balls after that. Visser blasted the free hit and extra delivery for two more sixes to complete six sixes in the over and take 39 runs (three no-balls) from it. This outstanding strokeplay placed Visser alongside notable batters like Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, and Dipendra Singh Airee, who have also hit six sixes in an over in men's T20 internationals. Visser's incredible innings ended with a score of 132 off 62 balls, including 14 sixes - the fifth-highest in a men's T20I innings. He became the first Samoa batter to score a T20I century and accounted for 75.86% of his team's total runs, surpassing the previous record held by Australia's Aaron Finch. Samoa posted a total of 174, with Visser's score dwarfing the second-highest contribution of 16 by captain Caleb Jasmat. Visser also contributed to Samoa's win by taking a wicket, as they restricted Vanuatu to 164 for 9, securing a ten-run victory. Excellent hundred for Jamie Smith against Sri Lanka. Latest in a long line of England wicketkeeper- batsmen, he looks the real deal.
Same old England, always swapping: Ashes-style ball change skittles Sri Lanka please log in to view this image By Dan Walsh England has benefited from a Test-defining ball change for the second time in a year, prompting Sri Lankan veteran Angelo Mathews to call for more rigorous rules around the controversial practice. I know we tried to change it a couple of time in the first innings, but they didn’t. “But the seam did look pretty awful on that last ball, and unfortunately, you have to accept in these conditions a ball change can swing around.”
Aaah, the Sydney Morning Herald, Australia’s favourite bog roll. Meanwhile Sri Lanka 4 down for 120 in impossible run chase in the Root Record Test.
Its our favourite paper! Not to mention the most trust worthy. Its not like the mirror or Sun or alike .............. the journos are the pick of the crop. Of course, if they happen to cast aspersions to someone or something, there is normally reason to trust in what they say..................... lets face it, just look at the cricket balls as a comparison ( see above ), there lies the answer. Your honour, the defence rest ................
England call up Josh Hull for the Oval Test. Lanky young bowler, he has played 10 first class matches and has an average of 63. Me neither.
Obviously picked for his attributes rather than any achievements - 6ft 7, quick and a left-armer. Away Ashes in mind, no doubt. I'm going on Sunday, so might get to see him in action.
Stop start day and well done Pope, but should mean that, weather permitting, Sunday is a pivotal day for the Stroller.
I'm there on Monday. The way this seasons gone I need bad weather tomorrow to make sure the match reaches Day 4.
Wood has been ruled out until 2025, a stress fracture of the elbow, an historical old injury apparently. God knows how many injuries he's had, he'll be badly missed in Pakistan !
