Also looking to now sign Santiago Hezze from Olympiacos. Hes an Argentine defensive midfielder, 22 yrs.
You may have mentioned Gordon being a possibly good future signing way back when, but when the rumours really kicked in during the January we ended up signing him, I distinctly remember your initial response to the idea was lukewarm at best.
Actually, a quick trawl suggests you were actually in that 'mass majority' for a while CC, as we have a post where you state your hope that we didn't sign him.
Cuz with the experience of Ban Arfa, Robert etc, we know attitude can be a problem regardless of talent. His attitude is totally different now from what we saw at Everton, but it was still something of a red flag. We took a risk on attitude with Barton and it backfired, we needed to be sure Gordon was different.
Oh that’s super interesting, thanks. I thought I’d add to this TRANSFER DISCUSSION by saying he has a fairly decent reputation in South America and adapted well in Greece, exactly the kind of low profile I had hoped us to be in for.
Cheers, appreciate it. I just get bored with endless arguments over who said ****ing what and how right some people feel they need to be as if it ****ing matters.
Lol, so you covered all you bases to be able to say he was both a bad signing and a good signing then
That sounds more like it. I respect that Chaos always covers all bases and then works hard to gaslight us all after the fact by only pointing at the bits that were right. It kind of works too as he's pretty much the only one around here who can be bothered to actually keep track of what everyone said. There's been a number of occassions where instead of me trying remember my opinion on something I merely state that I definitely took what, in hindsight, was the correct stance as I know he'll correct me if I didn't. It's less effort than actually checking myelf.
Yep, that's always been his approach, cover all scenarios and then later on pull out the screen shot of the one that was right to show how insightful he is And a smattering of "so far", "potential", "could", "might" (and other terms that enable the ability to easily backtrack on the.ones that are incorrect) and hey presto, you have the Chaos Theory to writing posts that can cause arguments at a later date.
I like the way he does it and have always been supportive of the debates he creates on the board, it'd be less interesting around here without him.
I hate the way he does that and have always called him out for it in the past. It causes unnecesary issues and disrupts otherwise useful discourse about valid points.
