His career would be better managed if he stayed and had a cracking season with us rather than go to Leeds. The only move which makes sense to him is to move to a top PL club, not one likely to be engaged with the lower places, and for that he needs to be guaranteed regular starts. A successful season with us in and around the top 4 or 5 would much more likely get him that kind of move next summer,if he wants it.
There are certain posters who are negative constantly and find something to moan about or take a negative stance. This striker for example. Do folk think we are going to sign mbappe or Harry kame? We beat sheff wed 4.0 and a posters first comment was on the queues and the ticketing problems. Some folk are just wired to complain or question everything.
Keep him for this season and we get promoted, his value to us will be much higher than a potential bit extra in transfer value. His market value should also rise with a promotion…. So ideally he signs an extension. He’s a cracking player that gets us as a club and fits in to how we want to play so well.
Lyon’s comments around it didn’t imply an underlying issue though (which would have been concerning). More that he would need an immediate period of absence due to an injury and that they needed someone to come straight in to replace a departing player. Unless that was just spin as an act of goodwill towards the player.
That’s it really, I know recently bias is a big thing in football but looking at how Leeds’s have started the season and how we have as well as the player’s they’ve lost I can’t see it being overly appealing to him, their obviously a huge club and he’s got history with them but at the minute it doesn’t look overly Rosey down there. The clubs I could see him in the league above which are the likes of West Ham/Palace have both signed or are signing player’s in his position so I just can’t see him going to somewhere who are most likely to come back down. I’m comfortable. *looks forward to a solid link leaving us in the next couple hours.
I don’t know how they call themselves supporters. They’re the very opposite. Worse than WUMs, incapable of encouragement and bleat on like entitled arseholes. The “Unforgivables”. I hope they have a better life away from this forum but suspect not. Very sad people.
The failed medical wasn’t a problem. It was consistent knee pain over the last 15 days before the medical and required rest. That was 20 months ago and he’s played a lot of football since so not worried looks like a mobile number 9
People who happy clap on a forum are proper fans, blokes who have season cards but don’t lick windows and aggressively clap their hands over absolutely everything Sunderland related aren’t supporters class.
Just a question. How can you make that 'judgement' without seeing him or knowing anything about him ... ... then, in the same breath, ridicule people for making their own judgement based on watching him play football, albeit on Youtube. "Mate come on, you’d not heard of him half an hour ago. We have no idea whatsoever if he’s a good fit." You're trying to build an argument on what you incorrectly claim other people have said. "On one hand people say that if you aren’t happy clapping about every single player we sign then you aren’t a proper fan." No one is 'raving about him' or claiming he's the next Drogba just as they weren't raving about Hemir, Rusyn, etc. In truth virtually everyone has been cautious but hopeful. The way you simply imagine these things then use them to criticise 'all you lot' is what makes you look really negatively biased. "Someone get a YouTube video up of him quick so you can all rave about how good he is." You're doing exactly what you're accusing other people of ... seriously, can't you see that? You only posted this a few weeks back so, perhaps, your definitive statements don't hold the gravitas you believe. One of those players was MOTM on Sunday and the other came on as a sub in a fabulous 4-0 win against an in form team. I couldn't care less what you post but please don't expect any respect if you insist on lumping everyone into your jibes. You keep claiming 'everyone' is a happy clapper lapping up everything the club does and raving about every possible signing, that's bollocks ... ... if you're going to quote someone do what I've just done and quote someone specifically, not just these vague blanket quotes as if we're all your dopy inferiors. There's a good lad.
Agree. It seemed as though he had a specific injury at the time.It wasn't something that had repeated itself from before, and it doesn't look as though it's something which has cropped up again since. Our medics will no doubt have a very close look at it today.
I really don’t care enough to spend an hour of my morning trawling through people’s previous posts to try and trip them up mate, I’d be here all day posting contradictory things others have said but I’m just not that arsed to be honest. Really need to calm all 5 foot 3 of yourself down mate. Mayenda was our worst player against Cardiff because everyone else had a pretty good game? Am I wrong? Did I ask for him to be dropped? Was I sat here all of last season blaming the players around the strikers or did I point the finger at the strikers who weren’t given a chance like most on here who are now up Mayendas arse? I simply said is this lad what we need. Never said he’s not good enough, never said he won’t score a hat full of goals. Just asked a question. Not my problem if chromosomes go missing and people throw their toys out their pram because I’m not overly excited. I’ve also never claimed anyone is inferior. You have a whinge about them over the road yet this is just turning into the same ****, everyone better rim the club otherwise the pitchforks are out
It took ten minutes while I had my coffee. Not everyone types with one finger and I didn't just 'try' to trip you up ... ... I tied your shoelaces together and sat back watching people laugh at you as your pants fell down and you hit the deck Have a lovely day backtracking and trying to work out how easy it was for someone to show how much you contradict yersel.
So, if Lyon were prepared to sign him, that alone is a good sign. Lyon have a bit of history for signing, developing and selling players, do they not? They pulled out in January window as lad was carrying an injury and they didn’t know the extent. That’s completely logical, as signing in January are generally as immediate impact or support needed. Lyon buy, sell and trade very, very well.
Course you didn’t, just took you ten minutes to write a reply but you penned that novel in record time. Spent your morning trying to make me look daft and all you’ve came up with is that I said mayenda was our worst player against Cardiff after saying I’d given him praise first two games. Buried me there mind. Don’t know how I’ll go about my day now knowing that you are laughing at me
There are times when you should really just hold your hands up, accept you've been had and laugh about it ... ... you'll just do your old 'airport security' routine of insisting everyone else is wrong, lashing out, shouting and claiming someone else must've packed your bags
