really don't get why so much of our focus has been on getting a replacement for Ali 2 years in advance while not sorting out the contact situations and getting players in for the fairly obvious positions
I doubt all our focus has been on that. Im aure our recruitment department are capable of doing more than 1 thing at a time and it might be that the players out of contracts want to wait until after the window so can see how the team has developed
Rhys Williams has joined Morecambe on loan. Would have thought he could have had a loan in a higher division than Morecambe are in.
Not a hope. He's done zero to justify a pro career outside play a few game for klopp Every loan has failed so he just can't make it happen for himself.
You're right. None of us knows what's going on behind the scenes. However, those responsible for transfers, like most things in life, will be judged on results. It's not enough to say you worked really hard if you don't pass the test. The test in this case is getting players in to improve the team. There are lots of things we don't know and some that we do. We are the only club in the top 5 European leagues not to have signed a player. It's true that we don't have to match any other club in who or how many we bring in but remaining static won't improve our chances of success. We know we have been involved in 2 very public transfer sagas. It happened last year for the first time that I can remember and it's happened again. We should have learned the lesson which is - not to brief local journalists on what we are doing. Does anyone think that we don't need any new players? I tend not to get worked up over lack of activity but that doesn't mean that I can't see the downside of it.
Breaking Transfer News Liverpool have signed... No new players since the last time you checked this thread.
why waste the time on it get the transfers done that we need now as that can be done outside the window .
On the plus side he should hopefully need to perform in order to keep himself high on the value list and get top dollar
I can only refer to my previous answer here - because we're not kept up to speed doesn't mean nothing is happening. We can't expect a blow-by-blow account of all transfer decisions, enquiries and negotiations. And because we're more obviously pursuing one line doesn't mean all others are on hold. I have no idea whether or not there is ongoing activity, I'm just trying to be reasonable in saying that we really have little information, so filling in the gaps with speculation is rather pointless.
Does he? He’ll always have the option of going Saudi no matter how **** a season he has as he’ll make them more in publicity by his name
there has been so much "talk" about the Mamardashvili transfer that clearly we have been , , at least , exploring the possibility with indirect talks via agents but probably direct talks with the club.Just feel this should be on the back burner with more pressing issues being dealt with and yes that may well be happening as well but i see no to spread our efforts atm .
I know we need to make signings. And ideally tie down some contracts. But in terms of outgoings, we’ve got some top $ for fringe players here. 25m for vd berg and carvahlo plus sell on. 12m for Clarke plus sell on. Over 60m for 3 players that prob would have made 10-15 appearances between them. Week left in the window. If we were to tie down vvd and TAA to new deals and sign this new keeper plus 1 more would that be a pretty successful window with scope to invest in January?
