It's interesting seeing some people claiming that those arrested were 'rioters' that deserve to be locked up. In quite a few cases that is certainly true, and I have zero sympathy for them, and I think in general the police at the events did a difficult job as well as they could. There's an underclass in the UK that will take advantage and misbehave if they get the opportunity. The issue there is, they most likely don't give a **** about being in prison, they're expecting it at some point, it's only the reason that will change and they'll just be back with their mates. Those focusing on these type of idiots are missing the point, either by accident or design. The issues are others that commit similar or worse offences against society, and walk away from court, or get minimal prison time. That is what people are seeing and objecting to. There are pages set up showing the same judges locking people away for words on twitter, allowed sex offenders to walk. Trying to ignore that because some arseholes were arseholes is part of the problem.

These videos are over several decades? Looks recent to me. Are you an Arabic speaker? How would you know what was said before Talk TV translated otherwise? If its over decades its Tories who didn't act...but then hate speech was fine under them. It seems you just want a return to the good old days of racist banter. The fact is these videos have only been sent to the authorities, post translation, and Bellends are trying to compare this to open support for hate and riots that's been going on for weeks. FFS. You're ****e at this despite all the practice you get. Videos showing exactly the same have been produced over decades. Some TV companies did some digging, and then pulled the programmes claiming they feared the reaction from the communities in question, even though they stood by the content. As for the translations, all the ones I'm referring to have been independently verified by many experts, and none I'm aware of have been found to be materially inaccurate. If they had been, then those producing them would have found themselves in very hot water. Plus they tend to include enough in English anyway.
