And that’s problem, we’ve done very little to turn us into a top team. The XI today is no better than any XI of last season.
It’s just the weak mindset that’s ingrained in the Tottenham DNA mate! Anyway at least we have a lot of games this season so we can move on quickly. I
He’s too one dimensional. Rightly or wrongly I can only judge him against former benchmarks and Poch set the best one in the Prem for us. Poch improved us as weeks and months went on for about three years straight, Spurs haven’t improved since the first ten weeks of Ange’s reign and every single Spurs fan can tell you our pattern of play. I don’t think the club has helped him one bit in the market because this XI is no better than last season but ultimately he’s also tasked with finding ways to improve. It feels like we’re just gonna continue how we left off last season - a few nice flashes but largely boring and predictable football that’ll get some results but not enough for anything special.
That foul on Kulusevski near the end was extremely frustrating. Hacked down, carries on, gets fouled again, then Kavanagh blows up when he's running through on goal. Gives the first one, as it's further out and a worse position for a free-kick. Useless ****.
Absolutely pathetic. We should have put the game to bed in the first half. The usual suspects did poorly but Bergvall and Gray look promising.
The main issue was we seemed to overplay it a lot, like we only wanted to score from a tap-in rather than take a chance when it appeared
It’s early days with Solanke, hopefully any kind of goal can kick start his season. Bergvall’s display was really encouraging when he came on. I still have high hopes that we have a really decent squad here with a lot of talent and can have a good season. And on another day we would stick at least one of those chances away and it would have been a completely different game.
Same shiete, slightly different depth, dominate a game, fail to take a plethora of chances and concede a poor equaliser. If we had a clinical CF we win that game 4-1. Johnson was dreadful, how he came out for the second half is anybody`s guess, Solanke looked every bit of the mid table CF that he is. One positive, made a few quid on Steptoe to score.
I thought Solanke looked promising. Obviously would have liked to have seen him finish a few of his chances but hopefully that’ll come. I think he presses better than Richy and can actually carry the ball quite powerfully too which was nice to see.
Bit over the top here. On another day we score 5 or 6. Plenty of positives, Maddison and bentanccur look like they’re getting back to their best, Solanke looked good but just didn’t quite find his finish and good to see we won’t be afraid to bring on the youngsters this season being that the lack of squad depth is what cost us last season. It’s only one game and plenty to be optimistic about.
Yeah I agree. I’m not as doom and gloom as others on here. I’m just so frustrated at the whole teams reaction to a setback. We have done well when we have gone behind over the last year or so and need to do so much better when other teams do it against us.
Way too much, almost like no-one is prepared to take responsibility and have a go. I got my first red card of the season from the wife for abusive language. A new record for me....
Yeah it was great to see the confidence to bring the youngsters on. Thought they did well, particularly Bergvall, he has star quality for sure
Certainly a lot in the 1st half and the youngsters brightened things up when they came on. Solanke was getting zero service in the 2nd half and I can see promise there. Sonny was off it tonight though...
I think we just got a bit carried away with the total domination in the first half. Lots of positives as others have said, great to see the young players being part of it and their talent is obvious. Way too soon for judgement of individual players. Ange won't be happy with the lack of fight shown but that did change with the substitutions.
I was reflecting on your last point and thinking: Sure, he's good at carrying the ball, but who does he then pick out with it once carried, for them to score? No one up there is reliable enough in front of goal.
Son, Sarr and Johnson all had off games simultaneously I thought that only happened in Football Manager?
