The rioters are to blame no two ways about it and they will be getting monitored. I’m just too cynical to trust anything online or events in the real world these days to not see some form of machiavellian underhand going on.
Bored aimless people like him are harmless unless they have money. Just like Boris Johnson, Farage, Andrew Tate, etc their money will ensure they'll enjoy a slavish following and influence over people. People still adore Katie Price, hang on her every word, excuse her anything she does and buy whatever she's selling ... ... it's insane but you can't reason with her fanatical supporters.
Not happening yet but this is a start, Farage next hopefully ... Woman, 53, jailed over ‘blow the mosque up’ Facebook post after Southport riots ‘Keyboard warrior’ Julie Sweeney sentenced to 15 months on busy day for rioting cases in England’s courts
Listening to BBC 5Live yesterday and a judge was hinting to the police they should be charging people with riot and not violence offences which seems reasonable given some of the events as it gets a higher tariff and will be more of a deterrent.
Anyone who thought there'd only be 'slap on the wrist' punishments for the rioters can see just how wrong they were. The first 6 year sentence has been handed out as the more serious charges are coming to court. And a 38 year old, mother of five children, has been given a sentence of over 2 years That's absolutely tragic ... ... however the video clip, of the man in Blackpool, who copped 30 months is quite funny He'll be hoping his cellmate isn't a Muslim psychopath .... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx2n638e6gnt
The first one in Sunderland charged with riot was 15 I believe. Maybe they were dragged up but their life is fecked now. A lot of the rioters (I am assuming) probably thought nothing bad would happen as it never does. There are often court cases where someone or other is up for their 50th burglary or shoplifting charge and they get 3 months suspended for 6 months and £50 costs that they never pay back. They’ve had no consequences so thought there wouldn’t be any. Arseholes that they are.
Locking up shoplifters costs a hundred times the amount they've stolen so there's little point. The rioters caused millions in damage and policing ... ... locking them up stops other idiots, dead in their tracks, so saves millions more. It's simple economics, no point fining them when they won't pay.
Oh I get the economics. My point is because they’ve never had any harsh sentences they were running around with their faces unmasked thinking nowt would happen. The idiots.
Oh I got your point mate, you're spot on. The last two decades have seen people allowed to get away with almost anything ... ... I hope this is where the Tsunami starts to turn. People like these need a massive shock because nothing else can penetrate their dense skulls.
Just on Sky news there 3 people stabbed in Manchester, 2 of them women. One dead. What is this country becoming man.
There's a massive sense of self entitlement and selfishness that started with Thatcher and has festered imo. Most people just keep their heads down, some are obnoxious in public but there are those who are beyond that ... ... it's irreversible in my view, but the boat people will cop all the blame with those people. In reality most of the rioters won't really be affected by immigrants. They'll still get their council house, benefits, motability cars and blue badges despite not actually being disabled. They'll still register their partners as carers and cop every extra penny they can get. But sod it I'm happy in my bubble and I'm not coming out ... ... perhaps I've become as selfish as them in my own way.
Harsh tagging all the protestors as rioters, a lot of people were genuine protestors but because they didnt resort to lunacy their message was lost. I never protested but I want Immigration controlled and I want the boats stopped, Im far right now apparently. Council houses are very hard to come by this day and age but immigrants are housed up and down the country and that has created division. Sadly this mess will only get worse because nobody actually knows how to resolve it or want to resolve it.
I'd guess that absolute everyone, including the government, feel the same ... I do as I've said. As for the rioters, I was only talking about the rioters and not everyone there ... ... I've previously said I respected anyone protesting but I'd think they were in the minority. Having said that, anyone peacefully protesting should've left when the riots started imo. I don't think things will get worse, they'll improve but there's no total solution imo.
Genuine question - my lad`s 18, mixed race (he`s brown), former SC holder and he has told me that it will be a while before he feels safe to watch us at home given the issues in the city earlier in the month...has there been any bother on a match day and would he feel safe to come up? Any help gratefully received...
Sunderland isn't full of racists as was suggested to try to cause trouble a short while ago (during the riots) please log in to view this image and I'd be absolutely astonished if he encountered any problem whatsoever at The Stadium 'cos the atmosphere isn't anything other than friendly
