Going to be a lot of games with poor kick off times this season, really not fair on those who attend the matches. Great having so much football on TV but they could always just get rid of the 3pm blackout.
I'm glad you went mate....it was a match not to be missed. I don't think Sky have ever taken fans into consideration when deciding ko times.
It's obviously bad for away games, such as Cardiff, but people don't realise just how many exiles we have. Sunday morning is often sports/fun times with the kids then 'Dad's time' after lunch. There's loads of people who take their kids to football matches, etc and many play themselves in Sunday league, etc. If a couple are taking two kids, to a sports event, that's four seats wiped out before you blink.
Spot on! There's no doubt that God made Saturdays for football....specifically 3pm. All this Friday night,early/late Saturday and Sunday, and the ludicrous Monday night, more often than not makes it extremely difficult, nigh on impossible for fans of whatever club. Sky don't care.
As mad as it sounds people are saying Cardiff looked the better side against mighty Burnley, **** Burnley, and the cockney ex mag as a manager!
I've done my bits of jobs and sitting watching the match for the third time. I admire those of you who can analyse the game live, I can't because I'm too hyped up. When I watch the recording I'm simply enjoying it because I'm not so tense. So I watch it again for the third time so I can see what actually happened, what tactics were employed and which players did well or otherwise. Having watched for the third time I'd like to ask the likes of Scout, Felltop, Sour, etc, who have a better grasp of tactics, etc, to clear up a few things still puzzling me. Firstly, people kept saying we marked Bannan out of the game but I don't see that. It looked to me like we marked everyone he could pass to and allowed him to stand alone, which made it 11 against 10 with him as the spare prick. Secondly one of Wednesday's main tactics was for the keeper or defence to welly the ball up front. Thirdly, as a question about tactics, I don't know what Rohl was thinking for the first and third goals. For the first he'd obviously seen our first goal, at Cardiff, where we blocked anyone trying to cover Cirkin but allowed exactly the same thing to happen. For the third, as kept happening, they allowed Rigg, Neil, etc, to be left free, on the edge of the area, to fire shots in. Sadly their keeper kept out a great shot from Rigg, happily O'Nien was sharper than the rest of our team and spun off the wall for his goal. What I'm asking, I suppose, is this ... ... is Rohl as clever as he made himself out to be during the Euros or can he just talk the talk like Beale did?
Rohl is the real deal imo, very intelligent head coach but RLB out thought him yesterday We didnt mark man mark Bannan but what we did was put pressure on all their players. That way they couldn't lift their heads n pick him out with passes n when he was on the ball he had one of our lads in his face. We pressed with a purpse as well, Mayenda's 1st goal is perfect example of that - the pass we wanted Beadle to make was into the forwards feet then o9 or alese would pressure their forward, Mayenda therefore angled his press to show beadle where to pass, o9 then won his duel n we won it back in a dangerous position We also dont press for the sake of it, if the press wasnt on we dropped into our shape, which we did very well vs Cardiff. You can tell we spend a lot of time n detail on that aspect as its hard to get a team doing that so quickly I still think sheff wed are a decent side n theyll cause teams problems this yr but we were jjst on it yesterday
18 years old. People think he's overrated because he's called Bellingham. The reality is if any other 18 year old was doing this, the world would be going nuts.
Yep, Rohl wants him on the ball deeper to start attacks. Bannan is very good if you give him time to lift his head when on the ball, which is what plymouth did. Jobe rigg mayenda didnt give him any time to do that Thats the part of Mayenda's game ive really liked this season, he seems to be really good at defending from the front
Many more performances like that and I can see a huge bid coming in for him, and Rigg (hopefully in about 5 seasons time)
