I was lauding Mbuemo earlier in the summer - if we are going to end up buying from this league. The guy came over at the age of 19/20 and did excellently in the Chamoionship (15 goals from the RW) and then has steadily provided in the Premier League and got 9 goals in both the last two seasons. He looks a menace and although I'm pretty sure he wouldn't get into a top 2 team (He's not as good as Saka for instance) I'd say he's good enough for a first XI of a team competing for top 4 and a huge improvement on what we have. I'd still prefer Madueke but either are substantial upgrades on what is a weak position for us.
I have to say he's better than our rw players...on second thoughts yeah I'd have him. I would like something else but I can't prefer another season with Murphy and almiron.
I feel like if Newcastle sign him they won't be able to sign anyone else. I think a few have been saying sign 2 players instead and I agree. I mean If they sign him and a RW player of stature that's great.
Now being suggested that Vlachodimos is going out on loan and that we're still after Trafford - who didn't play for Burnley yesterday (ill allegedly)
Bowen was always a nonesense rumour. West Ham are looking to build and would only sell a player like Bowen if they had an offer they felt they couldn't refuse from a top top tier team. There's no reason on earth why Bowen to Newcastle would have been a thing this summer, it's like suggesting Isak moved to West Ham from us. Palace are going to sell their players once the value is high enough and replacements are lined up. West Ham are not. ps. Maxence Lacroix who Palace are apparently interested in as a possible Guehi replacement is pretty good and the kind of player we should buy instead. We wont though as he doesn't play in England already.
We might buy him for an inflated fee in a year or two... Once he has reached the requisite level of PL experience to qualify as a suitable signing in the eyes of the Howes
I've given up any hope whatsoever of this regime and manager signing anyone even remotely exciting ever again. The foundations are going to get more foundations.
There's a few good players come from that league. The league argument is irrelevant because it's how good the players are at the end of the day. It's really just people hoping he's **** now which is quite funny, but he isnt.
I think we have dropped a huge clanger letting him go. But I might be wrong. And we have happy Miggy.
They had no choice or no choice that we're aware of. I suppose they could have had offers for other players the manager wanted to keep, but we'll never know.
I'm not bothered either way to be honest. If Brentford had bought him for £8m and sold him for £35m without him ever playing a game for them people would be saying how we need to do that kind of business. It's not like we've lost anything here, we gained £27m for nothing really. Maybe there are sell on % fees or such, who knows. Letting Toney go for peanuts when we were terrible hurts. Selling a good prospect for market value not so much. Let's be honest, you only hope he's excellent so you can rub people up the wrong way about it.
