I witnessed on Sky Sports Speakman on his mobile posting on RTG "Have faith, we're building for the future" Much to the dismay of the neagtive lot on there who were so angry they gritted thier teeth (in Newcatle Tooth) and flushed all hopes of us failing down the lavy.
Yeah it was the general play but after he fluffed his chance a little bit last week it was good to see that it's not a habit of his. He should have had more chances too with that CB going down and getting a free kick every time he got outmuscled. Think how good he'll be in a week's time
I don't get how our xG isn't higher mind. I'd have thought Mayenda's second and O'Nien's goals alone would have registered at least what we totalled. Then Cirkin's free header, albeit from a relatively tight angle and Rigg's saved effort on top of that too.
Need to see that save again it looked incredible to me could t believe it never went in. The Rigg one
The second goal was a gift, I'm not sure how it works with xG but Sheff Wed should have got some for the through ball they played to Mayenda.
O'Nien must have smashed the fantasy team points again this week mind, a goal, an assist and a clean sheet!
Couldn’t believe people were saying they’d be happy with a point! Exactly this, their squad isn’t great and they won games at the end of the season when teams generally have nothing to play for. We done it plenty in the PL then went back to our ****e normal self in August.
Was really impressed with Mayenda today anarl. He was continually looking for the run in behind first 15-20 minutes and there was about 3-4 times where Clarke held onto the ball for too long instead of playing him in. Kept at it all afternoon instead of getting frustrated.
Def still need another striker but does make me think do we really need a loan striker to come in. I really like what I've seen in Mayenda so far and he will only get better Id like him to be 2nd striker, and Rusyn as 3rd choice
