Apart from the goal Longstaff's tackle on Diaz was the best moment of the game. He fell over after it but credit where it's due.
Mental gymnastics isn't something that o my exists within Newcastle fans. Check out this one... possibly the best example of mental gymnastics I have ever seen in my life.
The referee was clearly a tool and was looking for any opportunity to book and send of our players. He pulled out the red card smiling and it was clearly not a red. In fact Schar was the victim. The referee needs investigated.
The ref was allowing them to make persistent fouls throughout and eventually one of our players reacted. It's all good because Newcastle won and justice done, but it doesn't bode well for what the people pulling the strings have in store for us over the next season. I predict many unjust decisions.

They allowed persistent fouling against us in most matches last season. It was likely a contributary factor in our squad picking up so many injuries...

Just a bit of an overreaction mate. Wasn't the best start, but even with 10, they didn't create a lot. We'd have won the game I'm sure with 11. Red killed it. Was a stupid thing for Schar to do but Diaz was equally to blame. Whatever... ref was indeed a dick and was very poor all game. Chucking the towel in for the season after 34 mins was a bit of an overreaction. Not many people at the game took that stance, which is a good ****ing job. we did what we needed to do to secure the 3 points, after getting shafted. WE WON. Maybe we should have played some swashbuckling stuff and gotten beat?

No. We won. I’m happy with that. But it was a little worrying how poor we were before the red. We didn’t create a chance before it. Schar however was done like a kipper. He’s an idiot for taking the bait. The referee was up for booking our players from the get go though.

We are unfortunately going to struggle this season if yesterday is anything to go on. We just didn’t really do an awful lot. Even the goal was a gift.
We'll be fine... Unless being pretty average for 25 mins makes you piss your pants. Honestly... I don't know what you lads are looking for, constantly plumbing the depths for all possible negatives. Blows my mind. If you seriously think that the early part of that game will set the tone for the entire season, you need help.
