Probably the best player in the championship from what I’ve seen over the last two years. He’s matured as a player. Sunderland’s form collapsed when he was injured last year as their game plan was give it to Jack. Be a great signing if there’s any truth in it.
polar opposite views posted at the same time really surprised no PL club has come in for him… so maybe they’re judging him on not making an impression last time or just think he doesn’t have the ability to step up. May be true but our priority is getting to the PL and he’s a top player at this level.
Sell a player for £10 million and buy him back for £20 million isn’t a good business plan. Secondly, is it only me that is sick to death of this obsession of wanting ex-players back?
I reckon it was the right time for Jack to move on, he was never the same for us, after his collapse at Boro. Regarding his return, reckon he’s a much better player these days. I’d welcome him back. It’s not an ex player thing, just think he’d improve us. With his age, if we could get him for under £20m I’d take him.
if he was worth £10m then and he’s worth £20m now then it is what it is. I generally don’t think going back is usually a good thing, and agree that some seemed obsessed by ex players… but if he’s the best available in a position we need then why not? Or should we spend £20m on a lesser player?
Look at scum, give Pogba away on a free, buy him back for £98 million, then give him away on a free again. Going back rarely works.
We won't be spending £20 million on one player guys. We'll probably end up with a couple of £5-8 million players and a couple on loan if we are lucky.
How many girlfriends/wives have you had? How many worked out? Did it stop you going for the next one?
I’m not usually one for wanting players back but Clarke for £20m is based on what he would offer the team here and now. Much better than Rowe, more of a team player than Summerville and better in front of goal than Rutter. There is no reason why he wouldn’t become a £35m player. Poor business is selling Rutter for £40m not replacing him and missing out on promotion We won’t pay £15m for Rowe because he’s not worth £15m
Ljubicic has sustained a knee injury which is likely to keep him out of action for a few weeks, another we can cross off
Wish we'd just taken the points hit. Works for every other team & they don't sell their squad off every season.
The issue is we’d still have sold Rutter and Summerville due to these ridiculous clauses put in contracts. Thought these were business men. Should’ve gave them both new contracts last season when we were doing well with higher release clauses due to both becoming better players.
Talk in Germany is that Ljubicic refused to play on Saturday. He took part in full training on Friday and seemed fine. He actively wants out of the club but his club are on a transfer embargo so can't replace him.
Need Gessa input but my guy reckons fall out between Bamford and coaching staff. He accused the club of forcing him out. Seems our esteemed recruitment team are trying to find a lifeboat for Bamford, FARKE wants him gone even if it means we contribute to his wages?
