Looking forward to see Rigg play again. However, shows the need for another DM. Thought Browne was outstanding last week.
Régis Le Bris has made one change to his starting XI from last weekend’s opening-day win at Cardiff City, with Chris Rigg coming in for Alan Browne. Midfielder Browne misses today’s game against Sheffield Wednesday, KO 12pm BST, with a minor calf injury. Rigg slots into the heart of the Black Cats’ midfielder alongside Dan Neil and Jobe Bellingham. Anthony Patterson starts in goal while Sunderland’s backline is made up of Dennis Cirkin, Aji Alese, Luke O’Nien and Trai Hume. Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts once again provide the width while Eliezer Mayenda leads the line. Sunderland: Patterson, Cirkin, Alese, O’Nien, Hume, Neil. Rigg, Bellingham, Clarke, Roberts, Mayenda Subs: Moore, Mundle Rusyn, Aouchiche, Triantis, Hjelde, Ekwah, Johnson
Not as concerned as others about Browne. I know he is good, but Rigg is more than up to the task. This is one area of the pitch we do not lack depth. I am probably more excited, as a supporter, to see Rigg start. Really pleased Mayenda gets another game. Would love him to get a goal and his confidence should rocket. I would attack Sheff Wed down the flanks. Am hoping to see Roberts get the ball a lot with Hume getting beyond him. Could be the key.
Thanks again RTB for your first class delivery, reg pics a good team and bench, shame about Browne and the invisible man, but both unavailable for one reason or another. OaU
Just parked up and seen the team and happy with Rigg replacing Browne. The safe bet would have been Ekwah but no issues with Rigg. Anyone know anything about Browne being out? Hopefully just a precaution.
There's a fella in the South East corner who's rocked up in the snidey 'away' top that was on dh Gate. The half green half white one
