As others have said, a poor selection which appeared to look for a draw. Apart from O'Dowda and possibly Willock a distinct lack of pace. I don't see Meite and Kanga working as a pair. Why Reindorf and Evans didn't even get on the bench I don't know. Surely the aim has to be to win games and that selection, particularly midfield, is unlikely to do that. Whoever comes on as sub is fighting a rearguard action from the start
I can only assume injury driven, Chambers and O'Dowda off, F-Walcott and Bagan on. Damage limitation, no effort to change things. With a -5 goal difference we are currently bottom. A very poor season start. Change that. Preston now bottom - alphabetically. Not all bad though, easy away game next weekend. They are 3.0 up at present.
Ah well. I'm not going to lose any sleep over this. Plenty of encouraging signs but unfortunately littered with some horrible individual errors. However, scoring goals remains out biggest problem and it's not just the strikers. Anyway, it'll get better as the season progresses and the introduction of our remaining signing Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobirds I apologise unreservedly to those that predicted a rout. Even though you're all still miserable gits.
I did wonder where our first goal and point were coming from. 5-0 is harsh especially with 2 worldy’s late on and a goalkeeping howler but let’s be frank Burnley are way ahead of us in every sense. The board gave him his contract but really and it didn’t need the benefit of hindsight he is not a manager for this type of league. His tactics are unsuited and this is a continuation of last seasons uninspiring football. Frankly if we lose our next 2-3 games which is highly likely given the opposition Bulut should go.
The board need to make a bold decision. He's going to be sacked before Xmas anyway so do it now and give someone new the chance to keep us in this division. Wait too long and we are down.
Wasn’t convinced by Bulut’s hesitation in signing a new contract in closedown. The last four games we have conceded 4, 5, 2, 5 which in itself is wretched for the fans, for the second time this season BULUT OUT!
Not sure what was worse: Scott Parker’s hair, the woman pundit on the Burnley comms or Hovarth’s all round display
