Sugawara looked very good. BBD was impressive out wide. Was a bit shocked when the team came back out for the second half.

Downes once again showed how important he is to us. So some positives at least.

    That was embarrassing.

Anyway justice was served no point crying about it.

I don't think we looked right even with 11 tbh... Still a few really **** players on our side and Gordon couldn't be arsed... thinking about Liverpool I suspect.

It's ****, and I'm pissed off, but I liked that we showed grit and kept the ball well. We let them off the hook yes. I'm trying to separate my past Prem experience from this one. Fresh start and all that. Points though indeed. We should have had something to show today.

Newcastle 'fans' being quite weird on the Saints Instagram page. Odd.

Just left the stadium and this is bull. We were a match for a team who will be pushing top 4 for half an hour and then were dominant.

No goal is gutting. Goalkeeper needs addressing urgently. But plenty of positives as agreed by all around me.

Some people need to realise where we are.

    Too soon.

I'll strop for at least 3 days. (Probably 4 because of the 10 men thing)

Hard to take but ultimately today doesn’t really matter. Losing away against the blood money of Newcastle is to be expected

Just another annoying thing about the Prem; the toxic social media.

Probably guys from India and Saudi.

You've tried to bait someone 3 or 4 times now. Doesn’t seem to be happening.

I thought we looked the better team throughout. A goalkeeper and a creative midfielder and we could somehow stay up!

We never win our first premier league game of the season and we never win at Newcastle, so not an unexpected result.
Disappointed by the way we conceded, but we were all aware that it might happen.
Also disappointed by the change at HT, unless it was injury related, as KWP was running their midfield ragged. Once he went off we were back to our playing side to side, making us more predictable and easier to defend against.
We had three really good chances to score (BBD header, Smallbone and Arma with scuffed shots that make me want to scream), but lacked the guile to break them down. They defended well.
I’m taking a big positive from the way we dominated them when 11v11.
Looking forward to the Forest game.
