.... and the money saved by robbing the pensioners wont pay even a small % of that, the asylum seekers alone will cost for next 12 months [ for just the 5000 since they got in ] is likely to be £172,000,000. [minimum ]
Plus there is now discord between junior doctors pay grade and GP's who are not happy and likely to take action on their work load pro rata their pay grade!

At least the Tories stuck to their principles (for once!) and said no repeatedly to the demands of the Junior Doctors and rail workers

It’s a good job someone is taking the bull by the horns and getting things settled, so we can move on from this debacle and start to get things working again.

There is also a cost to not resolving disputes, mostly these costs are never mentioned or factored in. The public sector strikes, have cost, and will continue to costs if they’re allowed to continue, £ms to the economy.

If you treat people with respect rather than continually undermining them, things often work out for the better.

Thats the perfect example of the repression of free speech that seems to be a trademark of the Labour Government.
We are turning into a Police state.
Yes the words were unsavoury, and unhelpful, but in my opinion they certainly don't warrant a jail sentence.
Funny how the jails were all full under the Tories and now there's loads of spaces. I wonder why that is ? !!

they let a few out earlier in for "petty" crimes and put 2 in a cell built for 1` and released a couple hundred to open prisons or with bracelets on!

They will claim the clamp down worked, but historically these events rarely last more than a week [ or 2 in some cases ]

The confusing thing at the moment is the shroud that covers the clarity of what is left / right/ extreme of / or centre left or right / etc

NO WONDER Kamikaze screwed up his time as a prosecutor [ was in the post at time of the post office, or part of it? ]

Oh Ashton, don't you see that whoever next is in line for a pay rise will strike realising Starmer will have to agree because he's caved in with ASLEF and the Doctors.

    He's over a barrel now.

he has made a CONSCIOUS effort to disguise the problem he faces .. he stated there was a £20,000,000,000 "hole in next 12 months fiscal plans, which didnt actually bring forth a condemnation like the close to £trn last Labour left! he needed to have a safety net to take away money from pensioners etc etc to cover what his Rattlesnake chancellor had said there " so called planning" had left!

this covered paying out the unions demands [ the puppeteers ] of having an OTT pay rise back dated to 22/23!
BUT the protests, no different than many in the past that have had Language / violence [ not acceptable ] / and mainly lasted a week or 2 before fading out has highlighted the need for Labour to have a smoke screen to hide behind. there is no regularity of sentencing criminal damage in the past has been dealt with as has other acts. This time the spark was the sad death's at SOUTHPORT ... people whether it was "misinformation or not saw the opportunity to unite against immigration, especially boat people... check out some of the protests people chanting stop the boats.. peacefully but getting caught up by policing being put on a standard similar to RUSSIA!
3 POLICE OFFICERS BEATING THE S*** out of a person who was just being mouthy and another for being a aged person giving them a bit of their tongue ... free speech?!!!!

A bottomless black hole in the finances that Labour has created themselves

So they’ve created the necessary excuse to raise taxes asap to cover their pandering despite them categorically stating they wouldn’t every time they were asked.

I need to be careful what I say otherwise the Police will be knocking on my door and sending me to jail for 20 years for criticising the Government, that seems to be how it works now

Disputes have to be negotiated eventually or else everything grinds to a halt, it’s a negotiation, both sides compromise, if either side is bloody minded it just becomes a log jam. Just digging your heals in is easy, but doesn’t actually achieve anything.

it does if it is unaffordable without the economy providing the growth and inflation staying down to 1.5 - 2%

ARE THEY GOING TO INCREASE RAIL FARES again, or absorb the losses ? uuummmmm hang on what would they absorb with? so far taking in to account extra costs implemented in past month, and still no sign of the border force or GBE WHERE OTHER THAN THE PENSIONERS IS THE MONEY COMING FROM!

As I explained previously not agreeing a deal has costs as well, strikes cost money. eventually an agreement has to be negotiated, or else we have gridlock, We were broken Britain, we have to start to get it fixed and putting these long running disputes to bed is the beginning. Just saying no isn’t showing strength as anyone can say no, agreeing a solution often takes balls, but is necessary.

There was no compromise Ashton and you know it.
It was a 'no strings deal' as proclaimed by ASLEF.
    Starmer caved.
It wasn't the first time and sure as hell won't be the last.

Percentage wise my understanding it’s not a great deal different to the previous offer, the major difference is the changes to working practices have pretty much been dropped. I think the major problem with the last lot was trust had been lost, probably on both sides.

The railway workers have always been a bunch of moaners
Some of the stories, if true, such as restarting lunch breaks if a manager talks to you, claiming .overtime for using sn I-Pad, and going mob handed to fo a simple one person safe job just about sums it all up
£70k wage for a train driver is still £20k too high imo

In a negotiation BOTH SIDES are saying NO as they disagree with the other!!!!!!!!!! SO it is not a case of saying NO it is a case of the the cap in hand asking for more and being told sorry not possible /affordable......
You obviously were not and also you didnt actually read or see the comments made after the agreement was posted ... you need to absorb more of the facts rather than say "Sorry I didn’t realise you were there at the negotiations," ...:emoticon-0105-wink:
