I have to work in Edinburgh quite often and they don't have chip spice. I never get chips....chips are heaving without chip spice.
When did chip spice become a thing? I don't remember it existing in my childhood/youth up to moving away in 1986.

It originated in the late seventies at Yankee Burger and was simply known as 'extra'. Hence my regular request 'Can I have fries with extra, a bacon egg burger and a Frank the Kraut'. (The greatest ever takeaway meal. FACT).
Invented in Hull by Rod and Brenda Wilson and still owned by Hull based Wilson Seasonings Ltd, as far as I can see.
I am sure everyone will be with me in wishing this brave young lady all the best and hope all goes well for her. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/southport-stabbing-teacher-who-shielded-33476627
