https://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/gills-sign-marcus-wyllie On paper, this looks to be another useful signing....The recruitment, thus far, shows signs of addressing weaknesses that have been obvious -- without breaking the bank.
We're going to play 5 upfront ! https://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/gills-sign-jacob-wakeling-loan
Sounds good, the loan last season was decent until he was butchered by the opposition and had to be returned as damaged goods. Wish the lad all the best, but I'll be expecting more than 8 goals in 46 games, unless he does loads of assists. Sorry, so demanding brb!
Appears Nevitt & Andrews are unfit for a little while, Nevitt supposedly 6 weeks if some reports are to be believed so our attack will effectively be Wakeling, Wyllie & Hawkins for the time being.
I thought is this some kind of wind-up, but nope it;s really happening. Although as much as I was one of his admirers, I have to question why he would want to come back, and to L2 of all places. Hopefully regardless of any minutes on the pitch with his character he can motivate the team.
I prefer my 'romance' from Mrs. A..... not Dack ! I sincerely wish Dack good luck...I have fond memories of his performances - and - if fit he has the ability and quality to make big differences in matches...................What is the big question ? When he gets fit - or - IF he gets fit ((( it's taken Andrews 8 months and counting ! ))) I have seen several ex players return to Gillingham.... NONE ( realistically ), were a success......and, I am genuinely surprised that Dack has NOT kept himself fit enough during the summer. .....s0 - Mr. Dack - you can keep your romance for Reality TV - but - please save a little energy for football.
Yeah for me a lot of the euphoria is about what we know he could do, and have witnessed it ourselves, sadly reality could also be those days are long gone...however, past experience and his jovial side can only help motivate a side in the depths of L2, and if he scores a crucial goal along with it, it's worth the punt. Which leads me to one burning question, how did we afford his wages, my current thoughts are it's a gamble on the back of the new SKY money, that Brad might not have seen coming in when he bought the club - that's not a criticism I hastily add, just a thought process.
Perhaps I should edit the title of this thread ......Gills need goalkeepers https://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/gills-sign-luca-ashby-hammond-loan
I don't know how true it is mate, but I saw someone I know on twitter say that Jake Turner is out for six weeks. He's not the sort of person to make stuff up, but don't know where he got the info from, unless it was just some rumour he picked up. But it would make sense he was injured if we've gone in for this guy.
