The 3 players who left for an upward move were all signed before Scott. Anyone else will be moving downwards.
Just looked back to when we signed Terry Taylor barely 18 months ago. Dean Holden & Andy Scott both claimed that it was a really coup signing him, and that he was one of the most sought after players at that level. What went wrong ?? Nathan Jones does seem to take a fairly instant dislike to players.
Jones seems to like hardworking players with character. But the way I look at it is for every artisan you need an artist. We don’t have any artists. Been hearing good things about Dixon. He is very fast with lots of tricks but he is also very raw.
Terry Taylor has got nothing in front of him - Docherty, Anderson, Coventry & Berry look like they are much of a muchness. I’m not saying TT is a world beater - he probably isn’t , but let’s have a look at him in our sh it midfield for 5-6 games at least. I am told this morning that TT has a huge ego & has had falling out with other team mates, so that may be a factor. Tennai is one.
It’s going to be a big ask for the Jamaican lad with no experience. The club itself admitted that he’s a punt, and one for the future. He sounds like the ideal player to bring on when we are 4-0 up …unfortunately it’s going to take us about six weeks before we cumulatively score 4 goals.
EFL Trophy group stages coming up soon. Guaranteed three games, win lose or draw. And no big crowd pressure. Let Dixon loose there and see how he gets on.
Lord Bowyer praised Gallen quite highly for the players he brought in. As I remember it things only really went tits up when ESI got a transfer embargo impose. Scott doesn't have that excuse.
19th April 2017 to 2nd August. Have a look at some of the absolute crap Gallen has brought in. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/charlton-athletic/alletransfers/verein/358
You are correct. When I asked him on the train “are Millwall the smallest club in South London ?” he replied “yes”.
