My concern is they won't even need to get out of second gear to get a big win if they're clinical.

All they need to do is let us have the ball in our own half and pick their moments to press and we'll cough up chance after chance.

 

Valid point. TBH I'm kind of hoping Martin takes them completely by surprise and plays for territory rather than keeping the ball. Newcastle play a very high line so playing the ball in behind their full backs could be a viable tactic.

 

Yeah I can see a dicking here, Newcastle being up for it first game of the season and they are just miles better than us. If we attempt to play the same brand of football as the majority of last season then it could easily be 5+. Interested to see how Martin approaches it. In a way it might not be the end of the world if we get absolutely hammered as it may encourage the club to add a few more players

 

Going on Saturday. Travelling up by bus surrounded by Newcastle fans. Then travelling back with less Newcastle fans. The others need to celebrate the easy win in the pubs. My Newcastle mate will bring any positivity, to make up for my total lack of said mysterious feeling. This will be a “Things can only get better” result. Except they won’t.☹️☹️☹️

According to RM, Sulemana, Lallana and Stewart are all close to being in contention.

 

Front 3 of Tall Paul, BBD and Armstrong will cause havoc - not sure for who though.

 

Sulemana has been close to being football player for a year, Stewart has been close to being fit for a year, Lallana still has a back problem, he stabbed us in the back 10 yrs ago.

 

I reckon we should be rename Ross Stewart to Close Stewart.
