Going to Ipswich will get him game time but will it get him back to the level he was when he was playing for Leeds and getting picked for England? Time will tell I suppose
Good player if he can rediscover some form. Easier said than done when you’ve been poor for a while, though
Good player when properly fit. Played plenty of minutes for Man City in pre-season. We’ll see if he’s anywhere near the levels he’s produced previously.
Are we forgetting he’s been an England international for the last 4/5 years as well as earning a £50m transfer to Man City after two brilliant seasons in the PL with Leeds? Give over man. Just because he’s had a few injuries and can’t get a game over Rodri he’s not suddenly a L1 player
He's one of those players some get and others don't, I just don't. Obviously managers and coaches see something in him but ive never got the hype even before the man city transfer. Not saying he's a league 1 player at all but I definitely wouldn't play him ahead of Neil or Browne currently.
Been suggested elsewhere if Udinese want Ekwah then why not us enquire about Keinan Davis ? Big powerful lad looking at the video. Surely he can do a job in the championship. Some are saying they want to offload ?
He was brilliant in Bielsas system mind. Hasn’t half fell off but if someone can get him back to his best it’s a real coup, seems like a very low risk high reward signing for Ipswich.
If that is the lad who was at Forest then not for me. His size was an asset, and he worked hard, but I was never convinced his in possession play was good.
I agree he is a good player, but I dont think he suits Ipswich. They seem to me a side that wants to move the ball really quickly and I dont think that is him. He is a good disrupter and out of posession great awareness. I just think he might slow their in possession play down, and in the prem that may take away some of their element of surprise.
I think Phillips will have a really good season for Ipswich personaly playing for a much smaller club than City and West ham with alot less pressure, and being able to focus back on his game properly
