They were clear about what their policy was in the election, they haven’t gone back on their word. Don’t see how that’s hollow words personally.

This was not in Labours manifesto.

Labour to allow 100,000 migrants to apply for asylum (telegraph.co.uk)

In regards to policy to reduce net migration Labour do not have one. What target figure are Labour working towards? There is none. What process will be implemented to achieve the non defined target? There is none.

What was the Tory’s targets, and did they ever meet them, answer 10’s of thousands , did they ever meet, or even get close to meeting their targets . NO, there is no point in picking figures out of the air. Absolutely pointless.

    edit
Plus no one knows what numbers of immigrants will be needed to fill vacancies etc, so how can we know what figures to use. Setting figures is a gimmick. Unless you happen to have a crystal ball handy.

The Tories put immigration on steroids but that was not the point made. Your posts made a unequivocal statement regarding Labour and immigration here it is again "They were clear about what their policy was in the election".

You have just undermined your own statement, by being incapable of defining what the policy is.

There is no clear policy to slash net migration, and slash is Mr Starmers own description.

My point was after 7 weeks it’s too early to assess. That’s just common sense. If they fail I’ll be the first to say so. I’ve already stated I’m sceptical that they’ll succeed, and that it’s a hard nut to crack.

Your point is there in the first post. A policy literally is a set of guidelines and plans. You cannot highlight what these clear plans and clear guidelines are, and you cannot even highlight a clear specific target that is the outcome of this clear process. You do not appear to have any clear idea what Labours clear immigration policy to slash net migration is.

This also is not included in Labours manifesto.

The UK's inflation rate has risen for the first time this year.
Overall prices rose by 2.2% in the year to July, slightly above the Bank of England’s target of 2% where the rate had been since May.

The last Tory influence on the inflation rate. A widely touted up tick of the rate, well it was expected to remain @2% or go up by a tad due to known influence going to occur during June /July. Its all Labour from here on in ... 5% interest rate [ expected another quarter% drop in September may be held ] and inflation @2.2% is starting point for Kamikaze's mob now.

if they can maintain no more than 18,000 illegal boat people then they will only have to find about £750,000,000 in the next year on top of what has been budgeted. This does not include those that arrive by ferries or air transport to claim asylum! that do not just vanish into the background and work the black market for peanuts.

So the base rate is likely to rise in due course
Mortgages will be less affordable again
    Great work !
All the nightmare stuff that analysts predicted could well follow a Labour win around like a bad smell are coming home to roost within the first 6 weeks

A new deal is being recommended by ASLEF for its members to accept.

ASLEF leader Mick Whelan insisted the new government hadn't rolled over and pleased it was a 'no strings offer'.

Starmer has solved the doctor's and rail strikes in a few weeks.

The Autumn Budget will show the cost of these agreements.

Giving a £9k riise to train drivers who are already on £60k a year is simply ridiculous and obscene

    In Starmer's first few weeks he's :

    Caved dealing with Asylum seekers.
    Caved with the Doctors.
    Caved with ASLEF.

And cut winter fuel payments for Pensioners.

    Great job 2 Tier !
    Have another 4.75 years
But in all honesty, and at this rate, neither he, or the Labour Communist Party will last the course
They are now jailing people who were guilty of nothing more than throwing a few insults at Police. Yet they are letting career criminals out !
    Way to go !

They've rightly jailed those who abused the police.

Have they jailed the Asian thugs who attacked women police officers causing actual bodily harm at Manchester airport ?

Sorry RP, but verbal abuse should not carry a jail sentence, nor should a post on social media.

But in answer to your question, as far as I am aware there have been no charges and no arrests made for the Asian thugs at Manchester Airport, whose actions should carry an automatic jail sentence.

with the second quarter growth figure published that is the emd of another tory up tick........ and people thougt the economy and country was broken and didnt bother to vote or followed the misinformation peddlars or even were blind to admit it was all all going good and were unable to accept that and rather hold on to the bad bits to prove only to themselves they were right in thinking it was broken...........

The UK's economy grew by 0.6% between April and June as it continued its recovery from the recession at the end of last year.
The latest figure was in line with forecasts and follows a 0.7% increase in the first three months of this year.

3 out of 3 major major up ticks and a few others showing signs of joining them ... then July 4th ......................!
