We’ve got **** all depth. Midfield full of midgets. Pre season was a clusterfuck. Acun’s asking Tim to paint a masterpiece without any brushes.
I think we also have to remember, this is 6 weeks only since TW arrived... as you say, some have got it, some have not....We have had a mass exodus which has helped the club and some promising incomings... unfortunately and we've said it before, it might be 3 windows before we get anywhere near the finished article..
The one time someone played the ball to Óscar’s feet it bounced about 5 yards away from him. Apart from being a decent goal-poacher, the guy absolutely stinks at everything else a striker should be. Not good in the air, not good at holding up the ball, not good at involving himself with build-up and not quick. The only improvement I’ve seen from him is that he presses more.
There’s definitely positives to take. We look better going forwards than last season in terms of chance creation etc. Individual mistakes happen, as they did last season, iron them out and we’ll be fine. Can say it was Wednesdays second string but we also had 3/4 young players starting, players out of position. We controlled 90% of that game.
Indeed He is a **** forward for modern football Hes a ghost outside of the box And we need to pray he controls a ball from one of the 8% successful crosses
2 silly freak goals early on followed by a long period where we looked far better. I think if we had Oscar on during this period we probably score on top of the dodgy ref decisions. Sheff Wed B team yes but still plenty of experience out there and a pretty strong and physical side so no mugs at all. Lost our way after the changes which again highlighted what we all know, we are severely lacking options across the whole of the front line.
Thought there were positives to draw on from that. Giles, Millar and Mahlem combined really well down the left. Some better movement playing from the back. A bit more brave like Walter wants. Obviously a few of those players came up short. Need to sort out the right side. Think we'll be alright with the new signings. Just frustrating that we're where we are when the season has already started.
Also, the writing is on the wall for Slater. He's only going to be a bit part player in that midfield. I think Walter was having a look at him at right back tonight to see if he can be an option there.
I like Walterball. Far more entertaining. Enjoyed the game. GK trying to hard to impress and made a blob. Macca really seems to be improving and enjoying that new system. Jarvis isn't ready, Millar trying too hard, and Oscar, as I said from day one, is shocking. He cannot control a ball, he doesn't read the game well and offers us nothing.
What I will say is that the team has still managed glimpses of good attacking play despite being wafer thin on quality. Credit to Tim for that. Pandur and Miller look promising. Simons is doing OK. Mehmler has been decent in patches. Seri can do a job. Omur is not comfortable on the right wing, he needs to be central off the striker. Burns is an unknown. Oscar is ****e. We desperately need a CB, LB, CM, RM and a new striker as a minimum and we need them 3 weeks a go.
He only just managed that. The keeper nearly got there. I was slated on here last year for pointing out how bad he was. I feel like someone should give me some kind of trophy or something now as an apology.
Is it? I think this is people deciding it's more entertaining rather than what's being served up. It's open but we've just played Sheff Wed's B team and only had 4 shots on target. Their keeper looked rash but I can't remember him making a save or us creating any more than a couple of chances.
