The bigger concern is that players like Isak and Bruno expect to play in the CL, which we are miles of finishing top 4 (22-23 was just a fluke imo) So it's likely they would pursue for a CL club. There's still time left, So I'm not throwing the towel yet, but the way we're handling transfers is atrocious.
Lol. You're starting to seem a bit laboured in the wumming attempts recently. This transfer window should be giving you enough pure material, no need to scrape around and destroy our suspension of disbelief.
That is the concern! We need to do something special again this year and while I think we will finish 5-8th currently (don't worry @Roy. - I'll do my predictions once the window closes) if we don't get CL this year Bruno, Isak, Gordon and probably Joelinton and Tonali will be looking around going wtaf? The only thing I'd say is those 5 between them are probably worth £250-350m so if we did finish out side the European places and had to sell the better players we would have one hell of a war chest to go and find some talent to replace them - no-one had heard of Bruno before he arrive, Isak was a known commodity but hardly classed as a TOP striker etc. etc. so we could go out and find some gems to replace them.
I sent a message via pigeon to a chip shop a couple of weeks ago. The message detailed my plans. A true story
We can’t find ****ing gems NOW! We’re offering £60m for Guehi and tried to spend £60m on Olise. For some reason our transfer policy has completely changed and nobody at the club is being asked why.
I’d absolutely love to know what’s going on. We can make good guesses about end of June and PSR but from 1st July for the following six weeks it’s been a total mystery.
Well, that MLS side were originally offering more, so I guess he's worth more than £7m from your own argument (and everyone else's common sense). According to The Athletic they originally offered an amount that we accepted. Almiron then demanded more money, to the tune that they had to lower their offer on the transfer fee. We rejected this reduced offer of £7m.
