Whatever your opinions, the method Israel used to take out Haniyeh is like something you'd see in a James Bond film. Quite unbelievable.
It means that Mossad have spies deep within the Iranian government. They apparently placed that bomb two months before and knew when he was there, so someone is feeding them indepth information.
When the US come out with these statements you know it’s about to kick off properly. The US embassy in Beirut has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon on “any ticket available”, amid soaring tensions in the Middle East. The advisory follows a similar warning from UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who said the situation “could deteriorate rapidly”. Iran has vowed “severe” retaliation against Israel, which it blames for the death of Hamas chief Ismael Haniyeh in Tehran on Wednesday. His assassination came hours after Israel killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut. It is feared that Lebanon-based Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group, could play a heavy role in any such retaliation, which in-turn could spark a serious Israeli response.
This is still ongoing and they're apparently 10km deep. Presumably is to try and divert Russian resources and appears it's being pretty successful.
Irony - Russia being incensed by Ukraine launching a cross-border offensive - was always supposed to be just an away leg...
Tragic beyond belief ... and completely unnecessary ... new born twins, their mother and grandmother killed by an air strike on a refugee shelter as their father was registering the births ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c985y78d0g1o
Isn't the idea of this mini invasion to draw Russian troops in from other regions? I got the impression that if the plan works they probably will not hold the areas they've taken, but it will ease pressure elsewhere where they don't want the Russians to be (put them back by about 3 months). Either way the Ukranians have rattled a few cages and though Putin denys it a bit of embarrassment for him, as Russian territory hadn't been invaded since world war two. His state controlled media is going to have a lot of explaining to do with Russian civilians...are the civilians really that much in the dark in our modern world of communications? please log in to view this image Sorry wrong flag ^...
Yeah, the Ukrainian interior ministry has said they have no intention of holding Russian territory long-term. Russia has been massing conscripts in Kursk and Donbas, so they have essentially poured into this soft belly of untrained conscripts and they're drawing more and more resources. It's a good idea, takes balls too, which Russia doesn't have, that's why they couldn't predict it
Just hope in the sequel they don't drag us into this war. Although having said that, this country probably needs a war to bring people together again, with the mentality of the riots, we've had it all a bit too cosy for way too long - bringing misery to others while dodging direct conflict ourselves. Sorry that's just my thought process, certainly not a wish.
Find it amazing that Russia haven't been able to repel this attack yet. Shows just how stretched their resources are I guess.
