I agree that circumstances vary. I've never been faced with poverty on the level that people from other parts of the world are and I can't really put myself in their position. I'm just critical in general of a world where money is seen as the only motivation for life choices. I was going to respond to your post on Chelsea finances with how all that wheeling and dealing shows to me how far the game has come from its roots. It's nothing more than a business now to so many and it seems few people see anything wrong in that. I defo wouldn't have gone to Saudi on principle btw, but that's a different argument.
And I would contend chelsea are not acting like a business at all as not business would do what they are doing. They are acting like they are Facebook buying up all the new apps possible so nobody else can compete
Yup. Bragging rights over finance is a weird one that’s crept in and suddenly become more important than 3 points to some people online it seems!!
Getting it on the back of derby chasing a lost cause and being brave (but were prob in a false position as well)
Especislly after the Birmingham one. Took them over in a decent position in play offs and within about 3 months had them fighting relegation
On the other side however, I'd be surprised if Sheff Weds can keep hold of Rohl come the first Prem sacking. Seems to be one to watch.
It looks as if we have some early.wobbkes already in the big clubs. Chelsea fans seem.panicked thst they are going to get destroyed left and right as they are trying to play a high line and knock it about with inferior ball players at the back. City fans seem worried about their squad Man utd fans seem worried they are about to go on another dire boring season with tin hat buying every ajax ex player he can. Arsenal fans are convinced their club is God's gift and can't fail but think they need serious types of players depending on their various points of view as fans Spurs fans who knows, they are waiting on half the squad to come back from injury. That leaves us who have no idea how this goes but it strongly looks like same again from the off with salah being critical. It'll be interesting to see who sacks manager first. All the pressure is on ten haag and maresca imo.
No idea which United and City fans you have been talking to but i can assure you that the vast majority of local fans from each club are quite happy with their squads and managers (though more new players would not be turned down by either).
Argyle are my local team and 95% of people didn’t want him. Think the owner just thought argyle would get more attention with Rooney as manager. Which they have but it’s always Rooneys argyle now, but doesn’t help the team as they have very little money and most footballers won’t want to come live down this way.
Well there is that. Only tech companies can ignore making profit to grow based on constant top ups and investments. Amazon being the original and biggest example but I don't think twitter ever made much money.
No but it is the capital of Catalonia which voted for independence a few years ago. By the rules of democracy it should be a capital city. It is the capital of Bavaria which used to be sovereign and again has an independence movement where Munich would be capital. Obviously, I'm taking the piss, but they are ALL regional cultural capitals. This is something Liverpool can't claim. It's not a regional capital or capital of a province. The four cities you list may not be actual capitals, but they share the common thread of being important cultural regional capitals. Turin considered the capital of the Piedmont (another region with a strong independence movement in recent years)... Even Milan would be capital of an independent state of Lombardy... And while Lombard Independence is not really something being strongly pushed for anymore like it once was.... I'm a little amused that whereas they're not internationally recognized capitals of nation states, by chance you've picked four cities that ARE potential capital cities in four active independence movements.... Perhaps the four biggest independence movements in Continental western Europe.
So basically no they are not capitol cities. Not even close. Thry might be nice cities but they are not capitals of anything. The correct answer to this old.debate is a mansion is a mansion. Players need a big.mansion amd somewhere for the wags to party as they cannot themsevles. If the debate actually discussed weather at all (which it didnt) then obviously there's a point about the WAGs enjoying their lives a lot more Footballers have a 7 day a week job that rotates round a training facility and a stadium and how they get there. Access to nightclubs of a.certain type ought not be their primary motivation for choosing a club. Money Winning things Lifestyle Some boyhood dream of a certain club In that order is usually that players seek.
I see Troy Deeney has taken over Garth's TotW slot on the Beeb. Saying how much he admires his predecessor while taking a swipe at his inability to put players in the position they actually play in.
