Yeah I’ve seen that back now, Kenny is in prime position to head that clear and given a massive push to the floor. That shouldn’t stand
Well we scraped through, but our defence is still a long way from convincing. Great to see Onel get a brace though.
I didn’t think the defence was bad RER, two set pieces goals with a certain foul in one of them. The OG is unlucky for Hills as he had to try and get something on it in case there was a forward behind him. The new Striker Hernandez did a decent job
Defending set pieces is part of it. They moved the ball with ease in our half much of the time. Blackburn will be a much tougher test.
More sustained flashes of how Thorup wants us to play, possibly the opposition helped with that but that’s probably what we need to breathe some confidence into the play. I thought Hills looked more comfortable on the ball than Duffy and Hanley have done, Warner slightly less so but still better than Hanley on the ball. Doyle was the best of them all playing out from the back and looked better than his game at LB at the weekend.
It was also a very young squad tonight which is exciting with proper game time for Warner, Hills, Doyle, Fisher, Gibbs, Myles, Forsyth, Kamara and Forson all 21 or under. When was the last time we played a game with 9 players under the age of 21?
I was again impressed by Forson, who seems to have settled quickly. Fisher looks better every time I see him.
Fassnacht and Sorensen confirmed to be out for a few weeks by Thorup. Rowe will not be involved on Saturday
