Indeed good to see McGuinness, especially as he's just made penalties less likely.

Subs have definitely made an impact.

Can see what some of you guys were saying about Reindorf now.

    He has something about him.
Good that he's carrying his 21 form into the 1st team.

Colwill came into his own once he went to his best position.

What's with Tanner one on one<doh>

Impressed with Kpakio and Bagan out of position.

There's some good youngsters in the pyramid.
    Kpakio is only 17.

Subs made the difference. Colwill different class as the 10. Tanner and Evans were direct and a threat.

Reindorf much better than Kanga and should jump ahead of him for a 1st Team slot.

McGuinness some ropey passes buy should start ahead of Chambers.

The first half was pretty uninspiring, lots of sideways and backwards stuff. It looked like they were all given a job to do and told not to try anything different. Bulut clearly put a bomb under them at halftime.

Things picked up second half and the introduction of Evans, Tanner and Reindorf with Colwill taking the no. 10 role made a huge difference as the game opened up.

Reindorf looks a real talent and if Robinson has an achilles injury as Bulut suggests then he must be on the bench at least on Saturday as should be Evans as a super sub giving us a plan B. What a change to see some real pace in the side.

I thought Rovers played their part and tried to play a constructive, passing game and not just knock lumps off our youngsters. A good save was needed from Alnwick near the end to keep a clean sheet. Good to see a major difference in the way Alnwick played the ball out. Much less risky than Horvath.

Robertson was neat and tidy and played a few good passes. I think he was told not to overdo it and ensure he is fit for Saturday.

Felt a bit sorry for McGuinness - although still only young himself, looked a bit out of place amongst the youngsters given his previous first team experience.

Not sure exactly where he was supposed to play across the back line with Bagan to his left but he took it upon himself to be the main man back there and did very well. Not sure about Chambers. I think I'd prefer to revert Goutas back to right CB and play McGuinness to his left.

Also agree about the difference Evans and Tanner made second half - pace and directness frightens defenders and it showed. Colwill at no. 10 is a no brainer, but where does that Leave Ramsey - can you play both?

I've repeatedly said I don't like the huge number of changes that get made. It doesn't help anyone. It gets very disjointed.
Perhaps the second half looked less disjointed because there were so many 21s on the pitch who regularly play together, or have come through that system.

Reading about Chambers, maybe sub him in for Siopis. Chambers looks comfortable on the ball and can break play up.

Just watched the highlights. Reindorf didn't look out of place. He took up decent positions and linked play up well from what I saw. He did a very good post match interview as well.

In general, I think there is a lot to be hopeful about with the recent crop of youngsters, some only 17 years old.

Agreed on McGuinness. Yes he made a couple of mistakes early on but I put that down to lack of game time.

He took control of a young back 4 and marshalled them well. He is also a monster at set pieces as the goal showed. We are a much bigger set piece threat with him and Goutas.

While something approaching £10m would be useful I really hope he stays. He is a future captain and can only be good for the club.

Seems to recall Mick McCarthy saying exactly that.... Fair play to him, he has probably left us with at least one decent thing after his tenure.

I can’t see Bulut bringing in Chambers (with presumably high wages) to play second fiddle to McGuinness and Goutas.

And neither surely as full back. Last time we saw Chambers at CCS he played at full back and was roasted by Murphy in our 4-2 win v Fulham.
