Cards on the table I'm biased as I wanted him a couple of years ago when he was first starting to look good in the dutch league (when he had pretty much the same season Minteh just had in terms of numbers and performances). I'm posting a youtube link below to highlight 3 things 1) he is indeed VERY left-footed even though he scored a banger with his right, he generally plays on the right but can play left which means he and Gordon could certainly cross cover 2) The video is all things he did in the last 12-14 months and it's more than ASM did in comparable timescales 3) He's only 22 and needs to work on aspects of his game but his general play alongside the likes of Isak and Gordon would in my opinion be excellent going forward.

I like him. I also find it amusing that he's a similar type of player to Minteh but is a couple of years further along but can foresee fans kicking off that we sold Minteh and got Madueke instead.

Oh god not him! It's funny as before Mudryk went to Chelsea he looked awesome for Donetsk and was a player I'd have been really excited to sign but there was always questions over his end product (he skinned defences for fun out there and just looked leagues above his opponents so was always goign to get a big move) as he only got about 1 in 4 in terms of goals and his assists were similar.

He's looked a bit lost at Chelsea but there's a player in there. The issue is that they spent way more on him than they should have (so expectations were too high) and he was in a team which had such a scattergun approach to recruitment and management. If Mudryk had gone to Arsenal - as he was heavily linked to - we'd have seen a different player. Still not even a £50m player though, let alone £100m >.<

Fair enough, good for him. If true then it shows the kind of character that people were suggesting he doesn't have.

This feels a bit mud at a wall: "he's rubbish", "he's got a bad attitude", "we don't want him". Then "oh he's refusing us anyway". Just covering all bases again I see :)

Not saying he's rubbish I'm saying I've not seen him do anything special at Chelsea and I'm not overly keen.

That's not to say he wouldn't be a great signing, but I'd prefer other players for that position.

    People are a bit desperate.

Mudryk looks class tbh, just completely wasted in the clusterfuck that is Chelsea. Kinda good he didn't go to Arsenal, Man U, Spurs etc cos they would have all been much better with him.

    Why?

Just asking cos they started last season horribly, and just killed the momentum they were making with Poch at the end by sacking him. Leicester guy seems a step back.

Possibly. I have a feeling we will, if we make an ambitious signing or two in the next few weeks... Not only for the quality improvement in a couple of positions, but also for the galvanising effect that a show of ambition should have on our existing squad members.

They were one of the best sides in the second half of last season and at the end of the day they have some very good players.

At the end of the day Chelsea came 6th... the media hyperbole when one of the Premier Leagues jewels isn't lighting it up every week leads people to buy into the hyperbole. They were better than Newcastle.

Newcastle? one game a week will help, but they were at least 2 or 3 top 1st 11 players from mixing it with the big 6, so we will have to see who comes in.

Half agree but our issue last season wasn't our performances against the top teams. We probably got as many, if not more, points against the Sky 6 as we had done the season before. It was the dropped points against teams in the bottom half which cost us and that's where I think one game a week will make a huge difference for us.

Weren't in the slightest, we were in the top 6 and the loss to Man U with only 1 game to go meant we only narrowly missed out.

Absolutely. The profligacy of Almiron and Murphy, coupled with the mistakes of Longstaff, Dubravka and Trippier, need to be eradicated. Tonali and Pope returning hopefully reduces the CM and GK problems, Tino improves on Trippier, but having a better RCB and RW will have a significant impact.

My concern remains the same - Howe has too much blind faith and puts too much importance on loyalty, smiling, banter and effort over ability and form. For what it’s worth it does seem clear that we are trying to buy in the two key areas. I’m just not convinced Mitchell and Howe are on the same page.

Not really the point - we were without Pope, Botman, Tonali, Willock, Joelinton, Wilson and Barnes for a huge part of the season, and still only just missed out on top 6.

Absence of top players wasn't the issue, it was injuries.
