No doubt any GK can play the ball that far. But Bristol marked man to man Saturday pretty much. You're asking a player to receive a ball back to goal with a marker chasing him down or tightly marking him in the first place. You lose possession in this area there's negligible differences to leading to a chance as opposed to losing it at the edge of the 18 yard box. I'm not going to convince you as I'm not a professional coach but neither is whoever the manager is at the time playing this style. Walter is going to do it till it works and it does work.
Please stop engaging him in this conversation, I assure you he will never get bored. He'll post a picture of his new haircut soon and then get right back to making the same point about goal kicks for the 500th time. It's completely not worth it.
it a player loses possession further out it is less dangerous than losing the ball three yards out with your mindset I dont know how you think any side can launch an attack given a player would chase them down or tightly mark them when I watch football I see plenty of opportunities to pass to players
A discussion usually involves offering something new that hasn't been said before. And this is me saying this..
And those that don't like it can scroll on past. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Or, as someone would say if anyone criticises the posts him or one of his cohort of favourites, “ reading is not mandatory…”
Watching this was interesting to see Tim around gameday's. Greeting players on the way out to the tunnel is a nice touch
Interesting that he was on the pitch during the warm up as well. You don't see many Managers doing that.
