Good luck enjoying Hull City games until Walter goes and even then I suspect they replace him with someone in the same mould.
they usually change their mind after the first few goals are conceded unnecessarily it happened with Liam he changed to slowing the game down by passing between the back four about 30 yards out while the opponents defence got organised and then some fans still wondered why we couldnt score goals after so much 'possession'
They were still coached 4 or 5 times a week by him. Just because they didnt play it doesnt mean they sat in a cafe whilst the other lads practiced that system for hours on end.
I suggest you watch the library of Hamburg games available on online under Tim Walter. He genuinely doesn't care about tightening up the defence.
So the 'correct' pass leaves the players foot and the opposition just freeze to allow it to land? You're back to these 50/50s again and that will cause Chazz to bring his washing machine picture back.
I enjoyed Saturday. Despite the odd mistake you could see the benefits of taking the risks at points that opened up space further up the field. The minute we got genuine wingers on Britsol had to back off. So yes I have embraced and I think this style can work
do you really watch football matches where nobody can pass because everybody is 'marked' except in their own penalty area at a goal kick?
Going to flip this back at you. Based on how Bristol City set up. How would you have attacked their goal saturday?
Haha I’d say it’s a mix of both, they lack ability to play Walter ball so they’re falling into old habits and playing the Rosenior way.
Use Movement. FA Principle of Play number 3. "During a game, your players might need to lose an opponent, leave space, fill space or go to help a teammate. Effective movement allows this to happen." You've been watching the game a long time Peter. Even in the dark days of Terry Dolan very few players stood there and allowed a player time to recieve a pass without putting any sort of pressure on him. Players have always moved to get the ball. Either towards the ball, in the same direction (balls over the top) or overlaps. People are trying to give you an insight in to how top level coaches and coach developers have seen that playing out from the back gives the team in possession greater control of the ball for longer periods of the game which, when done properly, opens up the opposition to create chances. Your response is to seemingly point out that kicking it long worked well for teams before so we should just do that? Have you seen the size of Omur, Oscar and Slater? Even if Tim read your posts and fancied it we dont even have the tools to do it. So for now you need to try and embrace what the lads at the back are trying to do and hope they get a bit better at it.
Macca up front surely? He can then nod it down to Oscar who would have scored about 7 goals. Are you learning nothing here?
it's good to see that you wont admit that teams can pass the ball further than inside their own penalty area I would pass the ball to players 20-30 yards or more from our goal these players at goal kicks and at other passages of play would move into space ready to receive the ball dont say it's impossible because even on saturday both teams were able to attack the other's goal if the markers were so wonderful in your understanding of football they wouldnt be able to receive the ball
Tell you what, from now until the end of time we'll all assume you don't like passing out from the back, and you don't have to post about it.
