Half of our team may be players, not starting yesterday, who could've ... ... I doubt Preston could say that.
Our strength in depth is certainly better than Preston’s (apart from up top) Not surprised to see us favourites to progress on Tuesday
Wow, never realised ... ... but here's the proof. https://videos.dailymail.co.uk/vide...091324761/640x360_MP4_1040141695091324761.mp4
Both sides are likely to make plenty of changes, but Preston will be looking for a confidence booster after starting their campaign with a home defeat, so they may not make as many changes as us. If we play our second eleven they will compete, but very few of them have shown much in pre season to suggest that they are worthy of a regular start. For that reason, I think we might struggle. Mundle and Aouchiche will be big players and could sway it our way though. I don't expect Clarke, Neil, Browne, Roberts, Cirkin or Alese to be involved at all, which would be the right call. Save them for next weekend. We have to make the SOL a fortress again and a win against Sheffield Wednesday would be a great start.
Would like to see us go 4 4 2 Put Jack on bench. Mayenda and Mundle the two up top through the middle. Johnson in back four with Aji to left back with Cirkin on bench. HTL!!!
I notice this game is live on the linear Sky Sports + channel tomorrow. So no need to press any red buttons. Its channel 412 on Sky Q and 410 on Sky Glass / Stream
I'd like to see the following team: Patterson Hume Johnson Triantis Alese Ekwah Rigg Aouchiche Mundle Ba Rusyn
That said, there's definitely an argument for keeping most of the team from Saturday. The more often they play together, the quicker they'll get used to what RLB wants. And we don't play until Sunday. So there's an argument to only change 1 or 2 players. Perhaps Rigg in for Browne and Rusyn for Mayenda.
Yes I like that and would have Hume as captain with Rigg taking the Dan Neil role. Aouchiche, Mundle and Ba together should be enough to cause problems and Rusyn needs to capitalise. My only difference would be bringing in a different keeper, we need to know how reliable they are. We've had such rotten luck with injuries I wouldn't take too many risks.
I'd go with the same team as Saturday. All this talk of players needing a rest after 1 game is utter bollocks. Let's put out a strong team, win the game and get some momentum behind us
Thanks once again RTB I am more than happy to leave the line up to Reg, so sadly I am unable too wind up any perceived slackers for this starting 11. Instead, I suggest that a 3/5/2 formation using wing backs might be an option worth considering . OaU
I’d be playing Mayenda as a confidence builder; but get the logic of giving Rusyn a start. Can’t get excited about this game as we can do without the extra games, but always good to get some momentum. Definitely like to see Mundle and AA start
Preston have a 30 man squad according to TransferMarkt, without looking at their squad in depth, you would assume they'll do a bit of rotating on that basis.
